Where's the link of Saban/Malzahn/Briles/Meyer/etc. to Texas??? I was under the impression it's a "done deal"?!?!

Malzahn wants the OC title but Briles is insisting that they both be named Co-Offensive Coordinators.

Try to keep up. It's Belichek at HC, Saban at DC, Briles at OC, and Malzahn, Tomlin, both Harbaughs, Muschamp, and Mike Leach as position coaches.

Has "a trusted source", "somebody in the know", or a "Texas insider" reported all of this? Only when I hear those words will I believe it all to be true!

USC interm HC Orgeron is pissed he didn't get the job and resigned, despite being offered a raise and the assistant head coach title.

I for one am glad that he won't still be with USC -- would be a monster recruiting with Tosh.

Love the Sark hire.. for Notre Dame.

    Longshot prediction:

Nebraska fires Pelini and hires Craig Bohl from NDSU (after they win their 3rd consecutive FCS NC in a few weeks). Of course, there would have to be some fences mended on both sides because of the way he left Nebraska, but other than that, I think it's a perfect fit.

This is exactly what a friend of mine who is a ND fan said.

Tell me about it. U-Dub fans "lose" their coach to USC and get an upgrade 3 days later. Life is good for them.

And USC passed on Petersen? It's like when I drafted Doug Martin and let Jamaal Charles slip to some jarboni.

I just don't think Chris Petersen is the type for those high-profile, high-pressure environments. Granted, UW is a proud program, but I think the down years under Willingham and the relative mediocrity under Sarkisian have taken some of the pressure out of that job.

There may have also been considerations for his child with special needs. One of the big reasons he has stayed in Boise for so long is that his family loved the care his child got from the doctors there. Boise to Seattle is a pretty lengthy drive, but maybe there was an opportunity to still see that doctor.

When USC hired Sarkisian, they were talking on the radio about how the HC pool wasn't that deep with guys like Sumlin and Briles signing new contracts and I could've sworn they said that Peterson wasn't available because he'd decided to stay at Boise. I wonder what the story really is. If USC didn't contact or offer him or if he for some reason turned down USC before accepting UW's offer.
