Only logical explanation for the last several years. Must have built his business empire when he was lucid.
The Texans have one last home game. Perhaps if the fans chant Fire Kubiak for three hours straight, Uncle Bob will get the message. And, yes, Pancakes is a good little doggy and floating a trial balloon. Beat reporters are absolutely worthless.

He's going to step down and spend needed time with family for the holidays. Considering his health and such... Wade will be named interim head coach and Bob will evaluate head coach candidates after the season. I have no proof of this but this seems likely.
I just think it's a different presser time because of playing on Thursday night. I do expect him gone, but not until Black Monday.
McNair should have fired his ass years ago, but there's nothing to be gained from doing it thirteen games into the season. But relief is on the way, in less than a month, a new era will begin, and it can't possibly be any worse than this dreadful season.
And that they are happy to name Schaub as the starting QB for the rest of this season and going into next.
He won't be fired until the end of the season. Every week, we speculate that he will be after every heretofore unseen low point each week, yet Kubes survives. Every passing week gives less likelihood to him abruptly stepping down due to "health." Honestly, we'll likely lose out. Indianapolis is jockeying for playoff position, Denver is going to stomp us and the Titans won't want to lose to us at home after giving one away in week two. I'd rather Keenum play, if only because he could probably be a serviceable backup QB in the future and Schaub has no business leading this team anymore. However, all fans should want the Number 1 pick. Winning would only be Kubes extending the finger even more to fans this season, knowing that sliding down in the draft would make things that much harder for the new coach next year.
I don't see why else this would be announced for an Eastern Time based start unless this was important. Like leaving to join Shanahan's staff in D.C. big.
I just don't see a reason for it at this point. We're playing like **** but I don't think the players have checked out (seeing as how we competed with New England). And I think Bob wants to let him go gracefully by letting him "step down" a couple of days after the season. They might even take 4 or 5 days to make it look like Gary really had to think about it.
