So many people have his offense?. You cant be seriously saying that? Outside of Lebron, Durant, Melo and Kobe no one comes close to his offensive repatoire.

Kevin Martin? lool oh pls, I know you are a LOF and weren't to watch Martin a lot, but the guy is a shooter. That's all he does, he moves off the ball and it's a shot. Martin has zero playmaking or passing skills. Ellis is a chucker period. A healthy Harden is far more efficient and puts the defense under pressure.

    Derozan?. loool oh my lord.

The question on Harden is not his post defense but his perimeter defense. He has a big body so he can successfully body up on a Kobe in the Post and cause folks some issues. He just isn't built to run around with a JJ Redick, Kyle Korver, Gordon Hayward and others. The issue is why is Mchale continually putting him on those types of players when you know he sucks at it so bad.

ellis a chucker? are u crazy? derozan is a legit scorer, if u watch other teams u would know. martin back w/ the kings and right now w/ the twolves is the exact same player as harden. do u even watch nba?

btw im not a lin fan, the guy is a turnover machine, if u read my previous post i wanted him traded.

This thread is ironic. Op is showing no effort on doing it himself yet complains about Harden putting in no effort.

That's because Kevin Matin is a systems player. He fits a role in a system and he fits Rick Adelman's system. Put the ball in Martins hands and make him a franchise player and the results were what we saw in Houston. Do you even understand the basics? There are all sorts of different players.

so what if he is a system player? does that make him less of a player than harden, who himself is a system palyer too (aka he needs the ball in his hands and the pg should not doing anything except make spot up 3 with couple seconds left)? last i saw, martin and harden have the exact same stat

and go watch some monte ellis/demar derozan games, then u will know why i compare them to harden

Now you are bordering on idiotic status.Any sane basketball person will tell you HARDEN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Martin. Harden is not a systems player. The guy went from a 6th man to a 26 point scorer and a superstar in a space of one season. Most systems players cant do that.

You are embarrassing yourself. You really are.

come on now, jr smith, crawford, ginobli, etc can do that easily given the volume of shots and # of minutes that harden play.

casual basketball watchers will tell u harden is the best sg in the nba because that is what the media hype it up to be and tbh his stats do show that he is. but a real basketball fan will tell u (the ones that actually watch the game and not stats) that harden dont play a lick of defense and takes a lot of plays off, flat out lazy. i really wish there is a stat that keep track of how many points a player give up, that will tell the story to all these "paper" fans...

i mean u visit the lakers or warriors or even thunders board and they all say harden is the best sg in the league, do u really think they watch even 1/4 of all the rockets game? let me tell u, the answer is no. they look at the stat sheet and bam avging 23 points per game, 44% shooting, HARDEN BEST SG IN THE NBA!!!

So if you are a fan of Rockets you should never criticize any HOU player, even if he shows poor effort and attitude?

Wow. I mean, I know that many people here don't particularly like McHale, but this is ridiculous. It's not that Harden can't keep up with the guys you mentioned - just watch that Clippers video someone posted earlier. Harden just completely loses his guy on several occasions because he only looks at the ball, resulting in open shots. And then Redick can blow by him on the perimeter without Harden even trying to stop him. It's painful to watch.

I don't expect him to a great individual defender. But in order to be considered a superstar, he has to at least be a solid defender and not be a liability on the defensive end. The worst part about it is that it's not because he CAN'T be a good defender - he simply doesn't seem to care about his defense. If we are to make some noise in the playoffs, Harden needs to start caring about defense a little more.

Harden is an overpaid stat padder, who gets most of his points from flopping and FT's. He has no interest in putting any real effort into the game, such as playing defense.
