They want to be the winner of the worst franchise in sports, right now its being held by the Houston Astros. So, perhaps a local rivalry is brewing. Astros or Texans? These teams want to make it clear they are the worst run franchises in all of sports, but who will win out in the end? Will the Astros win less than 50 games next year? Or will the Texans finish this season on a 14 game losing streak, thus sealing the deal and winning the ultimate trophy that only Houstonian fans could possibly applaud and appreciate, the Toilet Franchise Cup?

    Place your bets, now.

No, what I'm saying is that the Texans have real shot to be historically bad, and they should try to emulate the Astros to see which team can win out so that we as fans have something to cheer for the next few decades. Since we know our teams suck, lets place them in competition against each other to see which one sucks more, lets make it a rivalry, baby!

Some of us really old guys (like me) were just starting our love affair with the game of football back in the early 70's, when the Houston Oilers had back to back 1-13 seasons. The Texans have a long way to go to be historically bad.

    1986 Houston Oilers
    5-11, 4th in AFC Central

    1985 Houston Oilers
    5-11, 4th in AFC Central

    1984 Houston Oilers
    3-13, 4th in AFC Central

    1983 Houston Oilers
    2-14, 4th in AFC Central

    1982 Houston Oilers

Oiler fans know what historically bad looks like.

That's the mindset in this city, our fans accept failure. Other major market towns do not. That's why they have championships and we don't.

What the hell does that mean? That's asinine. I don't accept failure ever. I also don't play the game or own my own team, so I'm limited as to how I can change the outcome.

But I'm a fan of football. I root for the local teams, every year, no matter how bad or good they are...it makes winning all that much sweeter.

I knew last night's game was gonna suck, and 10 penalties in the first half had me screaming at the tv...but I stayed up and watch every minute of it, because that's what fans do. Did you?

Yes, because fans win championships, not players, coaches or front offices.

how many playoffs wins, have the Bears since 2007? (only one) how many seasons the bears with 10 or more wins (two, just like the texans).
do you think they accept failure?
