    Neither. Mariota is the man.

It's entirely possible there is no GREAT QB in the class, that happens all the time.

I think Case can be servicable for another year.

I'd draft Clowney in round one then look at the remaining QBs in rd. 2, I'd also look into replacing Derek Newtown in this round. Weigh the options of the remaining tackles vs. the remaining QBs and make my selection.

Now comes Rd 3 and it's quite possible I have shored up the Dline and Oline with out addressing QB. Again, I think Case could be servicable for another year. In this Rd, I would hope one of either Aaron Murray or the LSU kid Metterberger were there and take them, if not, I would look for ILB help here.

In short, I may come out this draft without my next QB, I see this class as better than last years QB class (EJ Manuel, Geno Smith) but not as good as the year before (Luck, RG3). For that reason I would use my top draft picks, these are guys I expect to make the team and contirbute beyond special teams to fill holes we KNOW we have and not get pigeon holed into selecting a particular positon.

Next year however, if Case proves to be what I think he will be (average / only servicable) I will mortgage the farm to move up for either Mariotta or the Florida St. kid assuming he declares and isn't in prison.

Also, if Derek Carr or Brett Hundley is there when I pick in the second, I take them, no questions asked, previous plans be damned, I think the value would be too good there.

All that said I think Rick Smith will be listening to Cal Mcnair again next year so expect more Sam Montgomery and Trevardo Williams aouble up style epic fails and not shrude drafting. I really think you could sit me down in the draft room with a pc and internet connection and I could out draft these two bafoons.

I say we trade down a few spots, gather an extra 2nd rounder for it. Take Matthews in round 1 and a solid QB in round 2.

You're missing the big picture. He and JJ will be on the same line. If you're the OC, who are you tasking to help out against more? Which one are you picking to run away from?

Taking Matthews would solve the Newton RT disaster for sure but what QB in round 2 (or round 1 for that matter sans Bridgewater) would be better then Case? Go Dline with the second!

There is no clear upgrade over Case at qb in this draft. If we want to trade down and get a guy with all of the physical tools and high upside like Hundley I wouldn't have a problem with that, otherwise we should take Matthews or Clowney with the top pick, Bridgewater is so overrated.

Why couldn't we get lucky like the Colts and suck in a year when a true franchise QB is coming out?!? Like seriously going from Manning to Luck with only 1 down year?! Ugh

Next year would of been a great time to suck with Winston become draft eligible

If we get Clowney, does that mean we have to trade Smith?

This is a contract year for Smith. I guess it is possible that we will know in advance of the draft if he has been re-signed, but I'm not confident that will happen.

We are not gonna draft a tackle to play right in the first.

    This is common sense.

Because of their new coach and QB.

BTW, they aren't in first anymore and have lost 3 games in a row. Coming back down to earth....just as I predicted. :)

I like the idea of Clowney, he is a force multiplier, his potential impact trickles down and makes the rest of the defense better. It will also make the offense better as turnovers increase.

Watt is a once in a generation talent and you have to exploit that, can't allow teams to load up on him and ignore the rest of your defensive personnel.

Clowney is the obvious choice from a position standpoint to counter teams loading up on Watt.

I will bet you $10,000 Mariota won't go first in this year's draft.

I'm pretty sure he won't do better than #2 next year if Winston comes out.

    Bridgewater vs. Clowney

Scouts could fall in love with someone at the combine and neither of these guys go first.

His only issue is motivation. If you look at the highlights I haven't seen an outside rusher this vicious since LT. He has insane quickness around the tackle, and you also see him steamroll over OT's with bullrushes that leaves them crying on the ground afterwards.
