What do you guys think for long term investing - is this small pullback a good time to get into blue chips for higher highs? I'm willing to wait longer (6mo) for a better entry point on extra cash reserved just for long term investments but don't really see a near-term end to this bull run, even if it is in its mature stages.

    crossover LOAD UP ON

    KMI

at these levels its never traded with a 5% dividend I bought a ton this morning at $32.99. It's CEO paid $18M for 500K shares last month at $35 and its one of the leaders of houston. It's a cheap blue chip which almost doesn't exist today

buy all you can in the $33's its better than your bank account

thank me in a few years

I was right about HIMX,SCTY,and now TNXP yesterday....my track record speaks for itself

I've really come to appreciate that quote from Lynch. You just have to have the fortitude to invest when the market drops. Decide a dollar amount you are comfortable with putting into the market every month and keep doing that.

Maybe look to buy a little now to get your feet wet and look to keep buying in January. I just have a feeling we will see a Jan pullback in the market with volatility starting to move up now. Are you just looking to buy some sort of major ETF like the SPY or DIA? You might also look at the DVY which is a blue chip dividend ETF.

Also with gold you have India successfully trying to slow gold imports. They are by far the largest holders and importers of gold in the world. Thanks for your take on things.

The thing with bitcoin is the float is so small. There are only like 12.1 million out there and it's seeming like it is becoming a global phenomenon. I was kind of surprised when the US govt basically legitimized it. I'm curious where it will end up, but I think it is something to hold for now.

the small float is why TNXP took off today.....there's only 10M shares......the insiders/management own 76%.....shorts have to run for the hills and cover when a good day like today happens.....and boom up 48% at one point

TNXP should still double at least from here in the next could weeks.....CEO spoke today said it should be a $75M company to be fairly valued....its $35M today

TNXP is actually a pretty good long term/ speculation hold it seems given the industry it is in and it's possible approval of it's drug that's in stage 2b right now.

Anyhow to clarify your comments, this stock doesn't have short interest. short interest is only 0.87% of existing float. there was a favorable article on seeking alpha; this news probably drove up the price with a 3.2 million share float and volume of 1.5 million shares today, its not hard to drive up the price. While I was watching it, buy orders of 40k , 40K , 20K moved it from 7.70 to 8.50 in 20 min or so.

what I liked is the board of directors

ernest mario - former glaxo CEO

samuel saks - CEO of Jazz

those are 2 big timers....theyre not getting involved in something unelss they think it gain approval....plus they porbably have the contacts to get it done

the seeking alpha piece said stock will rise from $6 to $100 soon.....thats pretty damn bullish haha

on a side note like i've said all along my mom is a neurologist, she looked at this and said it was going to be a smash hit bc fibromyalgia is a disease she said nobody likes to diagnose but now the government is making it a priority disease that they want to diagnose more and more, plus with obamacare and the fact avg drugs are $8/day.....if this drug gets approved, which she said it looks like it will bc its simply a reformulation of an existing drug but basically used for people to sleep she said it will be a home run and I bought shares yesterday at $5.98 for myself and She bought a ton of shares today under $6.50

this is a once in a lifetime opportunity she said, bc as a doctor she doesn't really look at pharmaceuticals but i brought this one to her attention bc of the positive info and it being in her field and she said buy it, buy as much as you can bc next october it will get approved.

FWIW she told me mankinnd will never get affrezza approved bc she said nasal diabetic drugs have been a topic since she was in med school almost 30 years ago and nothing has come of it.....and she said it never will

this though, she said is huge bc tons and tons of her patients can't sleep at night and she said the nature of this drug is addictive and will more than likely be a neccessity for life once prescribed.

also what moved TXNP like that was the CEO spoke at a conference today and said he felt it was very undervalued and soon with the new nasdaq exposure after the 20:1 reverse split it will get up to a normal valuation.....which is probably 2-3x where it is now....$35M market cap is laughable for what this is gonna do..

These 2day market dips are just the start of a large 6 month trend...

amel why would the market go down.....yellen might even up the amount of QE, until someone says definitively we will taper I'd bet you we hit 17,000-18,000 at least before any 10%+ correction

Because the market looks forward, and what it sees is Yellen will slow down QE, rates will go up - the economy is doing good and getting better. Time to pack.

Probably a good time to get into bonds, foreign markets like China and Europe, and just saving cash.

Most likely, the recent job data is not good enough for the Fed to pull the trigger on QE, causing interest rates to rise, but it will happen eventually.

gold has been hammered, but dont worry just like detroit went bankrupt this year, more cities will go bankrupt in the near future.....a war will occur, unrest in the middle east near an oil interest and all of a sudden gold will be a popular investment

FBGRX is good. The solar index funds are doing well too.

Some of these fixed income investments are getting hammered right now. Should continue to snowball before the year is over. They will be ripe to be bought then.

    Young investor here...

So TNXP peaked at 9.05 today... Based on experience, is it best to capture quick return or take the bet on the long-term gain?
I imagine there will be a dip come Monday for people trying to capitalize on the short-term returns.

I suppose this is from a technical analysis perspective.

This wouldn't be considered investing in the slightest. This is gambling.

Unless you don't care about the money then sell it.

If there's an opportunity to cash in, why wouldn't there be any consideration?

And could you expand on the bolded part? This doesn't make sense.
