Exactly. I can't take anyone who believes early season struggles with an overhauled roster is indicative of how they'll play come post-season. The first year Heat started 11-5, and 16-6 in the eastern conference. Hordes of people were up in arms to have Spoelstra fired. They did it again after Miami was bounced in the finals. He was too young, too unproven, blah blah blah. It's a bunch of knee jerk, overreactions from fans who largely don't have a clue. And Boston's first year with the big 3 is not worth comparing. They had more experience between the 3 of them than our entire roster has for their careers. Young, talented teams that are learning to play with one another will drop games they should have won from time to time. It's not indicative of the teams upside after a few months of playing together. Handing Portland and San Antonio their only home losses of the season? THAT is indicative of what this team is capable of come playoff time.
I didn't really like Mchale's choices while coaching last year, even though we over-achieved. It was more because of the talent of all the players is why we made playoffs and got a lot more wins then "experts" around the league said we would have. I will say that I was impressed with Mchale against OKC in the playoffs, it was like he was completely different coach. His rotations, substitutions were clearly out-classing Scotty Brooks.
He has no idea what he is doing, whatsoever. We need someone who knows how to handle the talent of James and Dwight. Head scratchers every single game. Edit: Even when he makes a good coaching move (line up to start the fourth), he ruins it by tinkering with the line up after a 10-0 run...
McHale is still a top 10 coach We begin the 4th quarter on a 8-0 run and then he brings on Harden and the Suns go on a huge run but it doesn't matter because we're still 13-7 and beat the Spurs
13-7 is soon gonna be 14-10 because we are very likely to go 1-3 or even 0-4 in our next 4 games. GSW Orlando Portland GSW
He is the reason behind the Rockets struggles. Many saw it his first year he is just not a good coach.
McHale is way out of his depth like I stated 18 months back. It's a pity that we have such a talented roster being held back by an incompetent, clueless coach
just wondering even a rookie coach Jeff Hornacek can beat Mchale and Morey's system. wth Morey really want???
It's a shame we're going to waste another year of Dwight's career before this is rectified. Instead of nipping it in the bud right now and going to war for the rest of the season with a coach who is capable. People line up for a coaching job for some of the worst organisations in the League. I don't think any coach that's out there right now save maybe PJ says no to coaching this team.
Hollins, JVG, Karl and SVG are all out there and would be willing to coach this team at an instant. I love what Morey has done for the Rockets in terms of the roster but his biggest mistake has been hiring a no record, gimmick coach in McHale. Great player, awful awful coach. He was ok I guess when we were rebuilding but now we are ready to challenge and need an established coach not some bottom tier coach
One example, just one tidbit from tonight of McHale's ineptness. You start the 4th quarter on an 8-0 run and then you insert back the worst Rockets player of the day in Haren and the Suns go on a run and close the game. What happened to riding the hot hands? Face it, McHale is out of his depth coaching a team with championship expectations.
