Ain't buying the whole he's hurt drama, dude just flat out doesn't want to play for the Rockets anymore
If you are going to trade Asik, you need to find out if Dmo can back up the Center. If he can't you try Greg Smith again as soon as he can play. We need to know before the 15th. I love having Asik on the team, I wouldn't make a trade; but you gotta know the how if you have an insurance C. 82 games can take a toll. Or he might just have a bruise.
That's an excellent post. Thanks for splitting it into paragraphs, A New Age and thanks for taking the time to type it out, PuzzledFan. I've also noticed that many people tend to do what you're describing a lot, not just in Asik's case. They'll just go for the most obvious thing they can point out, make a meme out of it and run it into the ground. Most people just seem to regurgitate what some sensationalist said or they'll read some actual decent analysis, then oversimplify it to the point of misinterpretation. Sometimes it really does seem that people are commenting without watching the games, or at least they have no idea what they're looking at. Oh well, I'm ranting without a point. I'll show myself out.
rockets are evaluating the trade situation by not having lin and asik play for extended time and seeing if they team can adapt
Same here. It's the same people that say Dwight sucks because he is not an offensive juggernaut. Did these people watch the NBA before this season? This is the same Dwight Howard with a little better post game and little worse tip-in rebounds. We signed him for his defense, rebounds and blocks. If you didn't think he was overrated until we signed him because he isn't a reliable post scorer then that is your fault for having crazy expectations. Asik and Howard is something that should be used. It's not something you start games with, because it gives teams days to plan for your biggest weapons. They snagged 40 rebounds on opening night. They can work, especially late in games when every rebound is extremely important and everyone is tired of hustling.
