I was meaning that I would expect the spread between the 335 and the M3 would be similar to that between a 550/650 and M5/M6 without having driven those cars.
Maybe you should actually test drive it. Best car I have ever driven. I have family and friends who have all the other luxury cars and every single one of them is mesmerized when they get into a Tesla.
Ever since I bought my first yacht I realized how trivial owning one's automotive machine is - unless it's being driven by a butler. I make sure to situate myself in places with good public transportation or take taxi's otherwise. I did enjoy cars earlier in my life but grew out of them quickly. I guess as a man of great distinction, your tastes are constantly evolving. Later chumps.
That's a cool color. I had put down money to buy an E92 M3 when it first came out but the dealer dcked me around so I took my deposit back. Ended up with my E60 M5 which I didn't regret at all. But I always wanted something slightly smaller, like the M3, that I could just throw around.
Why not move to a body of water and get a regal 35 cruiser for $250k? m5's are half that price and you get a lifestyle with it. There's no traffic in the ocean
I couldn't agree more. That brand new m6 will lose half its value in a few short years. Either buy a certified pre-owned or don't buy at all. That is my financial tip for the day.
I don't think luxury vehicles or jewelry of any sort should have the option of being leased/financed. Straight cash, homie. Weed out the posies.
One of my friends owns a Subaru Impreza WRX STI (blah that's a mouthful). He really loves that car. Although it's small, it's very impressive around tight corners and the acceleration is nearly as fast my car despite its mileage-friendly engine. Shifting on the standard tranny is a joy too. I might purchase the next generation when it's released in 2015. If you want a beater car that can take hard driving (on Houston's crappy roads) without visiting Momentum for every random check engine light, try out the Subaru.
sorry but you're making assumptions. the e92 m3 is a very reliable car and it's pretty well documented in the m3 forums. PS all you had to say was STI and we would know which car you are talking about.
If I were to go Subaru I think I'd go for the BRZ but that's only from reading reviews. As for smaller, throw around car I already traded in for a 911 C2S.
I would go with an M5 over the M6 just because it's so much more practical of a car compared to the M6. The M6 is a beast of a car and very sporty but basically a 2 seater because the back seats are a waste of space. You can get amazing performance and the luxury of being able to take more people in the car. Don't let anyone tell you that the difference between the 550/650 is nothing, because it's night and day. It's not just the engine at the end of the day, there is so much more, like suspension, brakes, etc. I personally have an modified E39 M5 and I can't get rid of it. Every time I have tried to get a new car I just say no and keep coming back. Not because I can't get a new car, just because I love this one so much. I have driven almost every variation of the M car and can truly say if you can afford it then get one. One thing I would highly recommend in my opinion, get a used one if you can find one that is clean. Let someone take the initial hit on the car because after the initial huge drop the car tends to hold it's value pretty well since they are limited production cars. Check out the M forums as well, you can get some amazing modified cars at a great price sometimes. I have been in the community for a long time.
The post I laughed at was about it having the latest technology of any car or some such nonsense. I don't have to test drive it to understand the technology of an EV.
You can laugh at whatever you want and I personally have not driven the best of what Mercedes, BMW or Audi have to offer. But Tesla really does have some of the best technology when it comes to battery and the overall tech package inside the car.
Nah Id rather find a Murcie for 120-150. Tesla Model S is what I would get if I was the OP. Car is a beast.
