LMAO! They just had a segment on SportsNation about James Harden and how he doesn't play defense, then the host said that is why he would take Melo over Harden. Hopefully Harden will use these kind of statements as motivation to get better on defense.

Harden had a great game offensively and I'm against all these LOFs always b****ing about his play, but dude really needs to pick it up on D. Maybe if he had a regular backup and didn't have to play so many minutes...

Anyone in this thread who said they would take James Harden over Paul George is not very knowledgeable about either basketball in general OR is way to much of a homer to admit how much better Paul George is then James Harden. Harden is better offensively, but its not by a landslide and its shrinking each day because George keeps getting better while Harden has maxed out his offensive capabilities. Now when you compare George and Harden defensively it becomes comical. Harden is one of the worst defenders in the league and George is arguably the best wing defender in the league other then Tony Allen. Paul George has HOF potential, Harden does not, though Harden is a very good player.
I was with you until you said Harden has maxed out. The way PG is playing lately I'm starting to waffle on saying Harden was better in an earlier thread. If PG can keep it up and Harden doesn't improve on D (or get 100% healthy) then maybe we can revisit. But to say he's maxed out at his age, but PG hasn't? That's a little shortsighted. One or two seasons is just the tip of the iceberg for most of these guys.

Harden has not maxed out his potential. Lebron didn't play good defense early on but now dude is a freaking beast on defense. Harden said he wants to be the best to play this game, so its a great chance he will improve on defense. Its too early to say who has hof potential and you do know we have a lot of players in the HOF that wasn't good defensively.
