Harden improvement opportunities: Corporate speak for he needs to do this better:
    * Play defense in a team concept. Right now, he can't stay in front of a refrigerator. Help out on the weakside without losing your man completely. Rotate out to the 3 point line with a hand up. Rebound like PBev, hustle for loose balls.
    * Please stop with ISO play at the end of quarters and games. Run the offense that got us a 20 point lead or that has worked for the past month.
    * Lead by example, instead of shouting at Casspi, Brooks, or PBev when you're making the same mistakes.
    * Lastly, leaders motivate others to achieve not run them in the ground.

Finally, I realize that dude is only 25 or 26 and I wasn't that good at being a leader either and we all know that Dwight isn't a leader. So we are stuck until they decided to become leader.

You know, you're totally right of course. You have my utmost respect for how you've cogently supported your reasoning and in the patient way you've done it, all while being accused of bias by those who have substantially less logic than you possess. You deserve all the reps that you've gotten (and I've given you some before my privileges were recently taken away for telling larsv8 to go to h**l.

At this point, if they ban me, that's okay. I've kind of had it up to here with some on here. And I've bought League Pass the past two years and have been watching and rooting for Houston (mostly). Maybe after a while things will change.

If you don't like the Rockets/Rockets fans, why are you here?

On Clutchfans, you aren't allowed to like the Rockets without having a designated scapegoat.

You must pick one of Lin, Harden, Howard, Mchale, Morey, or Les to bash on as often as possible.

If you don't have a scapegoat, then you go into the "homer" category and your opinions are invalid. Because being a fan on Clutchfans is verboten.

I would trade Harden, Asik, and Lin for Paul George yesterday all day... Why, you put George on the wing with Parsons and Pbev. Please try to score and we will not suffer that much on offense.

Harden is a great player but not a complete player, to be one he has to work on his defense because it's just horrific, it's sometimes painful watching him "guarding" other players.
The reason in my opinion Paul George is a better player than Harden isn't because of his offense, because both are very solid on offense and very diversified as well, the thing which distinguishes Paul George from James Harden is his defense, Paul George is a very strong defender, one of the best defenders in his position and also has a place among the league's most decent defenders, James Harden unfortunately is not close to be one.
Basketball is not just about offense but about defense as well, James needs to embrace the criticism and work about his weakness and make it his strength, he is capable of doing it no doubt about it, he is a hard worker and very talented, it's just a matter of willingness.

It also seems like Harden sort of gave up on the game last night, Rockets could've made a comeback unless this very silly and slovenly pass from Harden to Casspi which was intercepted by M. Williams for the easy jam which sealed the deal, after the careless pass which is a mistake of both Casspi and Harden there was an argument on the court, I understand it's from frustration but it's not something that should happen, guys needs to work hard on their chemistry.

Lol Rockets fan don't deserve ****. Really. 2 years ago we were fighting for the 14th pick for a 3rd straight year, then we got the young and fresh star that everybody wanted that was about to change the whole H-Town in James Harden (thanks to Morey's genius), bringing with him to our club a year later the best free agent since LeBron James. The star that everybody wanted this summer on this board, Dwight Howard. Now y'all want to trade Howard and Harden, you are some ungrateful pricks. We have the best C and SG in the league. You people make me wanna leave this board you remind me of a constantly unpleased woman. Every time we lose the board is about the blow up.

I am glad to see both Howard and Harden with the Rockets. Go Houston!

I can't say i disagree...i was going to make a thread that was somewhat related, but i figured it was too early for it. I've noticed Harden will snap at his teammates, primarily Casspi, when they mess up. Not saying they don't get along because I don't think that's the case, but I think Harden may not be aware of how he's reacting sometimes. I've seen two separate cases with Casspi lately where he starts barking at him after a play gone wrong. Casspi never really says anything back, just sort of shrugs, but i guess that's his passive personality.

Not sure what the issue is, whether it's mood swings or something else, Harden has to do a better job of communicating when he's upset and he's got to be just as upset with himself for screwing up. He's no Jordan or Kobe to bark at guys like he's near perfection.

Props for the honesty. I was being totally serious. Nothing wrong with following, or starting to follow the sport for a single player. Hell, I admitted previously that I was a MJ fan long before I was a Bulls and by extent, NBA fan. It's when things are taken to extremes that we have issues with folks. And it's understandable.

I'm not putting anyone into groups, but consider the following:

On one side we have person "A" who's just started watching basketball in the past few years because of a certain player/team/friend that watches sports, etc. He's passionate and cheers for what he wants to see.

Then we have person "B" who may have 25 years of NBA games under his belt. Heck maybe person "B" even played high school or college ball.

Person B is obviously going to understand the subtleties and strategy of the game better, while person A is still learning to understand what they're seeing and may just root for the overt goals. Points, wins, etc. If you put those two people together you're bound to have a giant disconnect. I remember when I was a kid rooting for the Bulls and didn't quite understand why Bill Cartwright refused to shoot that 17 footer even when he was wide open. Or why MJ ever passed the ball when it was obvious he could score at will. Try watching a sport you don't ever follow with someone who's a seasoned viewer of the sport. Boxing. Soccer. Hell even horse racing or auto racing. There are so many levels of things going on that are transparent to the casual observer. I try to always consider the source and take some comments with a grain of salt.

Online it's about 10000 times harder.

CF has mass. With this much mass there will be outliers with extreme social skills. But you also get the likes of torocan, Carl Herrera, solid, DaDakota, etc, etc, etc., which you won't find in abundance anywhere else.

Just gotta learn how to weed.

Is it a sad state of affairs that I honestly can't tell who's joking and who's being satirical in this thread?

I see where that could be the case. But the error comes in the form of "Houston fans know BBall", and "Lin fans are recent fans and don't know much except they like Lin".

Whereas in my case, I was in Albuquerque watching NC State beat the loaded Houston Cougars in 83'. I saw (on TV, but live) Villanova beat Georgetown for the Championship. I played high school basketball. I've liked Pat Riley teams -- players like Bob McAdoo, Jamaal Wilkes, even Rambis (not just Kareem and Magic). I called the Kectucky vs. Syracuse final on the Yahoo Pick'em that year, including the Syracuse win, and was in the top 0.005% of all bracket pickers that year. I've watched McHale play, and am of the opinion he benefited from being with Bird, Parrish, Dennis Johnson, although of course McHale was pretty good. Some of my favorite players all time? Joe Dumars, John Starks, Larry Bird. Then with college, professional school, career didn't watch much basketball, until Jeremy Lin started playing special basketball. With all the above, my opinion is that Jeremy is a special player, and more will see that given enough time if Jeremy gets a fair shot.

But here I'm just a LOF prob from Asia with bad English who don't know basketball.
