All he needs is Roy Hibbert to inherit Shaq's big throne that sits up and to the left of Kobes and the rings will follow.

I'd say Melo is probably the closest thing to Kobe's heir. Really versatile scorer who enjoys the bright lights and ballhogging. Doesn't like defense. The thing that stops him from being on Kobe's level is that Kobe, for all of his faults, is a dedicated student of the game. I don't think Melo is nearly as devoted to basketball as Kobe.

Paul George is a middle class man's Lebron. Which is still pretty ****in' good.

If you're talking about swag and modeling, I think you definitely have to say Chris Paul is closest in that regard.

Let's wait for George to get a few more years under his belt or win a Finals before declaring him the new king.

lol I see where you are coming from. PG has the killer instinct. But I would say LBJ has lots of swag. Maybe earlier in his career he didn't, but Lebron is pretty gangster.

I don't hate Kobe though. I know he is a good player, I know he works his ass off.

Considering I'm not even a fan of Lebron, it's just what watching objectively tells me about each player.

Your love for Kobe/Hate for Lebron is actually consuming you.

They are hardly comparable. George is a better defender than Kobe ever was. Kobe is a much better offensive player. Swag wise? Ehhh.

I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING AND YOU ARE 100% CORRECT! I'm a Rocket fan and would like for it to be Harden but PG is LEGIT! Harden is lazy as SH$T on "D" BUT he will score on anybody

This is the stupidest argument I've ever heard. Paul George will never be close to Kobe and will be lucky if he gets inducted into the hall of fame. He is nowhere near as good as Kevin Durant. Swagg doesn't do anything for you, championships do

Reading this is causing a decrease in brain function. George is a great player, but can we wait for a few more years of sustained defense and improved offense before we all go jumping the bandwagon?

    Haha I love this thread,

Especially to see the Kobe haters come crawling out.

FYI ESPN has been anti-Kobe since 2004 with the exception of first take.

Last time I checked Kobe was a top ten player of all time, even if you squeeze LBJ in there.

Talk about hype, y'all should focus on the LA Floppers.

If by Swag Ronny means the ability to let **** get personal in-game and channel that motivation, then George may get up there yet.

Of all the weird Honey Bear threads, this one is actually pretty solid.

The scrub player that people won't shut up about? Yeah, I'd say he is the next Kobe.
