We need some veteran leaders on the bbs to keep folks from panicking after a road loss coming after a huge emotional win with a key starter and our sixth man out with injuries.
Good reasonable post. As the first period unfolded it was obvious that a Parsons or Lin would have changed the dynamics a bit in our favor. But that's just an obvious statement anyone can make. I don't know Parsons well enough but he has the makings to be a good, and needed leader for this team. Howard? Naw, he's just happy to be...well, he's just happy. Harden? Talent is there but needs a few more years to become a leader. We're young (3rd youngest?). We have time. The true leader will surface within our ranks.
This. McHale does't command accountability. I think he does try to implement and run plays but guys like Harden just continue to disrupt the offense. A coach like Popovich wouldn't have any of that nonesense. I know Dwight has been struggling on offense but the guy has to get more touches consistently, there is no way he can get into any rhythm if he's only getting the ball every five minutes. He does well once he gets into a grove. When the Rockets are struggling to put the ball in the basket they need to go to him. It's so frustrating to watch.
Here's a novel idea: How about the Rockets spend some time playing together and become their own veteran leaders?
A veteran leader isn't going to turn us into a champion. Guys like Harden will find that abrasive. What this team needs is just time. TIME! Right now the issue is that they don't think they need to play that passionate on D to win. They are going through the motions. They need to realize how hard it is to actually win. You beat SA and now this team is like yeah...we bad, we bad, we know it. And then they let up against Utah and pow - they lose. That's the price of being young.
Hayes and Afflalo would be the vets I would go for. Hayes as backup C.(lol) Parsons at 4 and Afflalo at 3. ooooo00000ooo000 Also Parsons is the leader on this team, he is the ultimate glue guy for the Rockets.
What we really need is somebody to call out Harden on his shiit defense. It's clear that Harden does not listen to Mchale or respect him as a coach. Maybe he will get the message once he hears it from his peers rather than his coaches. I bet Harden believes his shiitt dont stink. Like he's above playing defense, that's a diva move, if you ask me. Sooner or later we will hear talks about the team not getting along with Harden. Harden better be careful or he may be ISO'D...
