Tough night for the Rox tonight vs Jazz. Pat tonight 38minutes 4-10. 8pts. 4 assists 5Rebs. Opponents A. Burke 9-18 21pts 6 assists 3Rebs (fluke career high) T. Burkes 7-11 21ptd 4 assists 3Rebs Brooks was pretty worthless tonight. Pat was out there for 38 minutes a little help from freaking AB would have been nice. Pat did get the 2 steals and a block tonight. Always hustling never gives up. Wish AB would have had some of that grit tonight. Ugh
We needed u tonight bev, that why people think Lin should get more mins, not only lofs, people who know bball
He wasn't worthless he's just coming down to Earth. He had 13 points, had a big 3, but he'll always be a defensive liability. At the end of the game, he tried to make things happen and they didn't for him.
Yeah, how dare I support my favorite Rox player and cheer for him to do well. Definitely should not be tolerated. Jeeze some if you are just bitter. Btw judging for your vitriol, post and screen name I'm sure that Kyrie is your favorite player to watch.

Pat makes the game winning tip in!!) 12/02 Trey Burke 21 and 6 (50%FG)
yeah my guess is the OP is a troll, but Bev's stats and his opponents in game stats are hardly impressive given the large clamoring heard all around this forum earlier this season about how much better Bev was than Lin.... and the OP is driving this point home in an underhanded way.
Ahem.....like all of last season? Lin also did a little better on A.Burks the last time we played Utah. Anyway, I finally checked the box scores this morning & didn't realize how many points Burks and Burke scored on us, 42! That's why David Locke has been praising T. Burke non-stop on twitter! The problem with Beverley's defense is the coaches think he can compensate for other bad defenders on the team. Not sure what we thought we could get with a Bev/Brooks defensive backcourt where both their assignments have the height advantage. Also dumb to put Bev on Hayward, even if just for a few mins. What message does this tell the other team? In hindsight, wish we saw Bev/Garcia, Bev/Brewers, or Brooks/Garcia instead of Bev/Brooks.
You're right, but let's take things into perspective. The only reason Parker only scored 27 was because he didn't shoot any free throws. Taking 27 shots and hitting 13 of them is pretty efficient given the volume..
I don't know why so many people expect Bev to lockdown stars and superstars. Locking those types of players down is an anomaly. The vast majority of the time, you are hoping they simply slow them down.
I've said it over and over again- Bev makes a couple of phenomenal defensive plays each game but the rest of the time I would hardly say his defense is superb. Watch any game and you can see how often he is playing 3ft off his man and really trying to drift towards the man with the ball. That almost always results in his man being wide open for easy threes and easy drives to the lane. I think Bev does it even more when the opposing PG isn't elite, like he thinks they won't be able to hit an open jumper so we see these nobody's just have banner games against him.
Why? He played very well defensively. In fact, he was the only guy that played really well defensively for us at all. Without him playing as much as he did in that game, the Jazz would have pretty much destroyed us.
The closest I can come to agreeing to this is the occasional times when Beverley does come off his guy somewhat and it allows him to drive in or shoot an open shot. HOWEVER, this is almost always due to the fact that he is asked to play defense on everyone. He has to try to make up for the lack of defense throughout the majority of our roster, which forces him to have to pick his poison on a regular basis. With this in mind, people should be scoring a lot more on him than what they do- the fact that they don't shows how good he is defensively. He, for the most part, does a great job of closing the gap while trying to help on another player at the same time. There are tons of players where I think "No way he's going to be able to contest that shot because of how far away he is in helping on (insert other player)", but then he actually finds a way to get there and contest it- usually resulting in a miss.
Not letting a player get to the line at will is a good thing. He shot pretty well, but if players could they would live at the free throw line. It's the easiest way to rack up points. It's the reason Lebron, Durant and Harden score so much so efficiently. When you limit free throw attempts you limit efficiency. Limiting efficiency is pretty much the name of the game.
