Harden is a star player in this league. Paul George is blossoming (has blossomed, I want to say after what I just witnessed) into a superstar player in this league. Gun to the dome, I'm taking PG 10/10. Light work.
Harden says meh to PG's 43 on 30 shots, 46 on 19 shots is where it's at But in all seriousness, Dwight and Parsons for PG? anyone? no ok
you know what's the difference? George doesn't need to switch assignment to a lesser player because he can't guard him.
The difference is the Pacers would not have let every single Utah player go off on them. Only in Paul George groin-land do people think that Harden is responsible for the entire team defense.
take off your homers glass , if you can't see the huge gap of defensive efforts between Harden and George, i'm speechless.
I miss the days where Clutchfans used to enjoy it's best players. I guess it's understandable since we're one of the bottom teams in the leag...wait...what? We have the 6th best record? No way. Harden sucks way too much for that to be the case, no? Surely this can't be.
Harden can't have the exact game because he doesn't play defense. That's the point. I understand if you're not watching the Portland game (I am), but at least watch the Rocket games. Sheesh.
I miss watching the players that played hard and super well on both sides of the court -- like Jordan and Bird. Only in today's messed up world can you not give a ***** about defensive effort and then get defended by fanboys that think some players (whether lazy or not) are beyond reproach.
He is much longer which will automatically give him an advantage defensively, and I will concede that he is more consistent in his defensive effort. But Harden is a much better playmaker/scorer so I wouldn't say he's a more complete player. People would be calling for Harden's head if he took 30 shots in a loss. If you switch Harden and George, George would not be considered as good as a defensive player as he is now, and Harden would not be considered as bad a defensive player as he is now. Defense is mostly a team thing and the Pacers are far and away the best defensive team in the league, while the Rockets are about average. Having George instead of Harden wouldn't change much.
Once again, being a more complete player does not make you the better player. That's fine, being a more complete player does not make you the better player. Plenty of role guys are more complete players...Some of the best PFs today aren't great defensively in Love and LMA...but West is not better than either. Lol at you actually watching Rocket games.
Your truth will be lost on those in Paul George Groin land. They think that Paul George would instantly make our defense into the Pacers. Meanwhile the Rockets get a multi-time DPOY winner and still it doesn't solve our defensive issues.
This I can definitely agree with. I get the sense that a lot of people here don't really understand the concept of team defense -- or pretend not to understand it when doing so supports their agenda.
Denial much? How far will you go to defend/rationalize Harden's D? Oh, it's okay not to answer if you have his johnson in your mouth.
Not denial, just basketball basic logic bro. Maybe one day you will understand that when an entire team of scrubs goes off on you, it's not on one player.
I wonder if Indiana fans are complaining that his chucking cost them the game, 43 points and 3 assists is Melo land.
So far Paul George has played much better than Harden. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional. PG is an elite wing defender while Harden has been atrocious on that end. PG has also been scoring at a very efficient rate(not as efficient as Harden but still very good). Any gap offensively is closed and then some by the wide gap in terms of defense.
