I can't see the Bulls wanting Omer which they didn't match, so a 3rd team would have to be involved. If the Rockets can get Deng and a 1st round pick, they should do it. Smith will be the backup 5 and if needed, Okafor or Camby should be around by February.

Still think Atlanta makes the most sense as a trade partner. If we can get Millsap and ATLs 2015 1st (also has swap agreement with Nets), I'd say that's a good haul. TJones moves to backup PF and backup center, so he still gets 25-30 minutes a game.

I have 2 realistic dream trade scenarios in which TJ remains our starting PF.

    MIL gets Asik, Canaan
    HOU gets Antetokounmpo, Pachulia

    or

    MEM gets Asik
    HOU gets T Allen, Koufus

I think the Bucks trade would be difficult because everyone is so high on the greek freak, but at least they're getting a great young guy in Canaan while obviously improving their team now (they still refuse to tank).

The Griz trade would basically be the Griz panicking about the Gasol injury and wanting the best stop gap on the market. Not a good move for Asik though.

Hell, why don't you just trade Asik for LeBron?

Yeah I would like to have Millsap too,but we should trade Asik and D-Mo for Millsap and that brazilian Center they drafted
Then we could sign Okafor and the brazilian Kid would come nxt Season and we could develop him with dwight and Mchale

Good arguments by rosolian and dobro.

I would then tend to say you need to consider who is more difficult to find a great back up center (which we have) or a great perimeter defender.

I say stick with the back up center. First we have him and second I think Parsons or Brewer are both pretty good perimeter defenders who can hassle the great perimeter scorers roughly as good as they will be bothered.

If you change the comparison to the above, the challenge becomes much more even.

I think Morey wants to trade Asik for 2 first round and an expiring contract
and then Lin for something like Shumpert and a 2048 NY 1st ;) and another expiring

so he creates the space to go in the next free agency after Carmelo or Lebron?

First of all, it was overly risky for us to move Lin AND Asik for cap space for Iggy during the summer while we already have Parsons. At that time it was clear that our biggest hole was the PF, and we would be seemingly creating another big hole in PG had we move Lin. (We didn't know how much Beverly would improve to handle the starting role, and we had no idea of who we had as the backup.)

Secondly, even with 20/20 hindsight, I still wouldn't just do salary dump deals for Lin+Asik to sign Iggy. If you like it, I believe we could easily do a Lin+Asik for Luol Deng deal (with Asik going to a third team) any time before the trade deadline. If you are willing to give up multiple picks to the warriors (just as they gave up to the Jazz in the first place), we may very well get Iggy from the Warriors as well for Lin+Asik.

Anyway, I'm all over a Asik+Casppi for Deng trade right now.

    Lol.

We wouldn't have to worry about scoring with Melo/Harden being on the court.

Man Asik often times is just not playing 100%, with the same vigor he had last season. I guess when a player is unhappy it's bound to be visible, but it's hurting us at various times. Watching opposing players just out hustle him to rebs is frustrating.

I was holding faint hope for the Ryan Anderson trade, but in contrast he's been red hot and killin it for Pelicans since return from injury and I can't see him being had without nice addons on top of O.
