I don't even feel like talking about this anymore. According to joeguo, we should have started Aaron Brooks or called up Isiah Canaan because Bev is obviously such a bad defender he let the second best point guard in the league score 27 points on 27 shots. I'm out, bye silly Bev thread.
Now THIS is the truth. OP obviously is a LOH (there goes the myth that there's no such thing) who created an account to hate on Jeremy. His first comment: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=8475904&postcount=210 With fans like OP, Bev doesn't need enemies.
Just look at the video, Parker blowed by Bev just as easily as he did to Aaron. Parker missed some easy layups for whatever reasons but not because of Bev's defense.
OP has now been accused of being an LOF, a BOF, and a LOH. I submit that he is none of those, and simply an equal opportunity troll. An obvious one, which is why I'm not sure why people continue to engage.
Oh by the way, bring up Bev' PER while you at it. Bev is great because he has hearts, great attitudes and he has consistent handle and can play off the ball, most importantly, he is CHEAP.
this cant happen in a playoffs series, we have to figure out a way to at least slow him down & westbrook will be taller and bigger.
I don't hate Lin. I just think he is injury prone and a very slow healer. I think history backs me up on this. I think Lin is a very good player and I said so. In all honestly if he played for a Eastern Conference team he would probably be a legit allstar candidate with that conference as bad as it is. He just doesn't fit here in Houston anymore. Even Brooks is a better 6th man bench player on this team. Lin should ask Morey to move him for his sake and more importantly for the Rox. It's just business. Asik has enough sense to realize when he is not needed anymore. Lin should too. It's better for their careers and better for the this team and its quest for the Chip!
I want AB coming off the bench and Pat locking down the other teams starting PGs. He's shown he can lock the best against Parker, CP3 and Westbrook. Harden, Howard, Parsons and Pat are the core 4 baby! That's our future. If Lin wants to stick around and be minor role player/bench/cheer glue guy from the bench that's cool. But AB is the better fit for 6th man and Pat is the undisputed starter. If Lin wants to be a part of this team cause he likes hanging out with Casspi and Bang that's fine but he's needs to play a smaller role and know that guys like Pat and Bang are the core and he isn't. LOF need to just chill on the Bev hate.
He WAS slowed down. If we hold every teams best scoring option to 1 point per shot attempt we have done our job, plain and simple. Especially if they take 20+ shots.
You're nuts. He played ALL 82 games last season and he's only out a projected 2 weeks. Pierce just got hurt and he'll be out 2 weeks, Anthony Davis got hurt last night, JJ Reddick will be out for months. Lin has been durable, he just had a freak injury in the playoffs. That happens. Westbrook went down for the whole playoffs and part of the beginning of the seasons based on an injury. Lin has played great for the Rockets and Rockets fans know he is a big factor especially if and when Harden goes down and Harden's feet may become an issue. So of course he's valuable for the team, along with the playmaking he provides, defense, explosive scoring and getting to the rim at time.
disagree He missed many point blank layups could have been 40 easy, took over the game single handily, but I'm referring to a playoff series (like i said), if he feels like he can just get to rim like that going into a 7 game series vs us then we have a problem. I will make another observation on x-mas
Who besides LeBron has slowed down Parker? And how? And in the playoffs, since you play the same team at least 4 times you make adjustments from game to game and different guys may step up in a given game.
Your stats are wack btw.... http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/player/_/stat/assists/qualified/false/position/point-guards Jeremy 15.3 PPG (17th among PGs) - Bev (34th) 2.6 Rebs (23rd) - Bev is (14th) not top 10. 4.5 APG (27th) - Bev (55th) 1.25 Steals per gam (18th) - Bev (17th) .5 blocks per game (4th) - Bev (5th) FG % Lin(3rd) - Bev (42nd) Now why is Patrick starting again? Because he's the better player? SMH
Was Parker slowed down by Bev? Did you watch the game? Parker was the ONLY reason the Spurs came up on top after they were done by 23. Bev's defense was beyond bad.
I love the "did you watch the game" comment. Like people who come on to a message board to discuss their favorite team don't watch the games at all. Yes I watched the game. Am I supposed to be surprised that one of the best players in the league on one of the best teams in the league helped his team come back? But if you look at the game as a whole, Parker had to work and take way more shots than normal to score what he did. Against top tier players this is essentially the best you can hope for. Also to pin the spurs comeback on Bevs defense against Parker is beyond ridiculous..... Did you watch the game?
Please consider the source: And starter of this gem, which has since been locked: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=8403806#post8403806
Bev's opponent's number so far. The follow is the stats lines from all the PGs Bev has faced as a starter, excluding the Charlotte game where he only played a few minutes before rib injury. Held Kemba in check from what I remember before getting hurt. 11/5 Lillard 22 pts 5 assists 11/7 Blake 14 and 2 11/9 CP3 14 and 13 11/11 Lowrey 16 and 2 11/13 Woten 18 and 11 with 10 Rebs (Woten got lucky, abnormal game) 11/14 Felton 8 and 7 (locked down!) 11/19 Bradley 11 and 0 (that's right 0 assists!) 11/20 Ellis 37 and 8 (Bev had to guard him so he was having to guard a bigger SG. fluke) 11/23 Rubio 8 and 7 ( Locked down!) 11/25 Conley 10 and 10 ( Locked down!) 11/27 Teague 6 and 4 (Locked down!) 11/29 Taylor 16 and 12 11/30 Parker 27 and 8 (Parker was 13 for 27 and held under 50% shooting. Pat makes the game winning tip in!!) Thus far opposing starting PGs are Averaging only 18.2PPG and 7.7 assists. Little higher than I thought at first but still very solid. Bev is tied for the lead and blocks this year among PGs and top 10 in steals. Had an amazing run in the playoffs (which by the way was his first ever starts in the NBA. Checked Westbrook and Then RJ. Not bad for a dude who was playing I the Ukraine this time last year . Will continue to track his rise an growth with the team.
My numbers at from basketball reference. You can check them if you want. http://m.bkref.com/m?p=XXplayersXXbXXbeverpa01.html&t=1
