There is nothing unique about the Houston Texans doing well one half and getting owned the next. That's their calling card. It's among the best reasons why their head coach should be fired.

of course Antonio knows what halftime adjustments are: they are the bully that gives him wedgies and stuffs him in his locker every week.

Yep. The Texans have been one of the worst 2nd half teams over the entire Kubiak tenure. It speaks really well to their player talent that, all things being equal, they can come in and dominate a team in the first half, and very poorly of their coaching that they routinely get smoked in the 2nd half.

This is loser talk pure and simple. Belichick stood on the sidelines taking notes referring to photos during the entire first half as he analyzed the Texans' so-called defensive strategy. He then goes in at halftime and makes changes to their offensive strategy. It's called coaching Antonio - I suggest you take your dumb ass and go look it up. As for seemingly knowing what Wade's defense would do, News Flash for the Texansheep: Wade's been running this defense for YEARS. There is a book on Wade's defense just as there is a book on Kubiak's offense and the Pats are familiar with his defensive approach. In Brady you have a supremely experienced QB whose preparation enables him to understand not only what the defense is doing but what it is trying to do. I NEVER thought that I would agree with Steven A. Smith in a million years but in this instance he was spot on when he pointed out the no one needs to cheat on a team that has lost 9 straight games.

I'm not sure this is true.

The calling card in year's past was hot/cold, but it was never for sure whether it would be first half or second half that would be hot. It was just a consistent problem that we rarely got a full 4 quarters out of the team.

So if they have top secret spying info, why not just start the game dominating? Seems like it makes more sense that they are just making smart adjustments at half time.

Becuase that would be too suspicious. That's why they started the season so bad. To divert attention. That's why they lost the SB when they were 18-0.

    2009 Texans

    1st half points (gross/net): 196/+28
    2nd half points (gross/net): 161/+27

    2010 Texans

    1st half points (gross/net): 151/-84
    2nd half points (gross/net): 236/+50

    2011 Texans

    1st half points (gross/net): 268/+124
    2nd half points (gross/net): 172/+8

    2012 Texans

    1st half points (gross/net): 252/+68
    2nd half points (gross/net): 199/+1

    2013 Texans

    1st half points (gross/net): 134/-17
    2nd half points (gross/net): 90/-79

There's a pretty clear trend here. The last 3 years, the Texans have been a bad second half team, and 4 out of the past 5 years, the offense has performed worse in the 2nd half than the 1st half.

Let's see other teams for that. I don't know where you get the stats, but just for fairness, how about you show the Ravens and the Patriots.

Because in my mind it makes sense for teams to have a slight advantage in the first half in terms of scoring because the second half, particularly for the Texans, has tended to be a running out the clock situation.

I just compiled all that by hand. FFS. Go do it yourself if you want a reason to not believe my assertion.

"You know, truthfully, we just played a little bit better in the second half," Brady said on the "Dennis & Callahan show" on WEEI sports radio in Boston. "We've kind of been through a lot of this before. I don't really think much of it, truthfully. I just kind of have moved on. I've already started work on the Cleveland Browns [the Patriots' Week 14 opponent], trying to find a way to play those guys better and get off to a better start."

Yep, I think this is more of a sarcastic shot at our coaching staff than an accusation against the pats.

    Antonio is trolling everyone.

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...m-brady-texans-did-nothing-that-blew-our-mind

"Execution is the name of the game. We did a good job there in the second half," Brady said on WEEI-FM on Monday, via The Boston Globe.

As for those new wrinkles that Smith talked about?

"They definitely did some different things than we were expecting, but nothing that really blew our mind," Brady said.

The Patriots' offense has been coming on strong in recent weeks. Contrary to what Smith said, there was nothing particularly "miraculous" about the performance. It was the fifth time in a row that Bill Belichick and Tom Brady beat a Wade Phillips defense, with the average margin of victory being 18 points.

Bottom line, the Texans suck this year and are better at finding ways to lose than finding ways to win. Again my point to the ones justifying Antonio's suspicions of Pats cheating because of spy gate or whatever is that when you are 2-10, NOBODY needs to cheat to beat you and to come out and imply that is just plain stupid. Smith needed to keep that to himself. Just another embarrassing chapter in an embarrassing year. National and local media are having a field day with this one.

This is the explanation I'm going with.

This made me lol so hard.
