George and his Pacers just beat the Clippers earlier today, a team that we've lost to twice already. Even if you want to use the argument that the East is weaker (which it is), the fact that they are 16-1 is still damn impressive. Rockets lost to the 76'ers, a garbage team in the east. So, if you're going to use that as evidence then you must use it for the Rockets too. Right now, George is the better player. As a Rockets fan, I hope it doesn't stay that way. But that's the way it is.
So did Miami, but NBA titles aren't won in November. If you can decide that a player is better based on month 1 compared to someone else clearly carrying an injury, you probably need to consider filling the vacancy upstairs.
Did you not read any of my posts? I clearly stated that it is still early in the season and Harden still has plenty of time to make up ground. But, as of today 12/2/13.....Paul George is clearly the better player. I hope that changes, but those are just the facts.
As of today? Harden put up 31-7-6 and rammed the 4th quarter down the throats of the one of the nba's truly elite teams.
It's still the guy who doesn't play in the pathetic Leastern Conference. Pacers have had the easiest schedule in the NBA... by far.
No I'm not kidding... Parsons doesn't get the opportunities that PG gets. And he just had a darn good game against one of the best defenses in the league. And just like PG _ Parsons can't consistently create his own shot... If it ain't LeBron or KD _ small forwards come a dime a dozen... You guys just think Indiana is only good because of PG... Replace PG with Parsons and Indiana would still be rolling over there in the Leastern Conference.
There's a huge difference between being the number 1 option in a halfcourt offense, and a number 3/4 option in this one.
Apparently Harden plays for the Heat now LOL: I actually think George might be a better pick than Harden. I liked the argument by that one poster earlier in this thread who mentioned that the only thing Harden does is play O and he can't even do that properly. George is a defensive specialist and still somewhat of a threat on O.
It's a huge difference with having a 7'2 center with a post game and an All Star caliber power forward who's a beast who also has a post game in that half court offense too... They play the inside out game which would be great for Parsons because he's the better outside shooter of the two... You guys keep acting like PG is the only player on that team... Lol..
Why on Earth would anyone believe that Harden will improve defensively? He's had 4 years, and he has gotten worse if anything. Paul George is shooting .470/.404/.828 while averaging 23.8ppg. He's giving you Harden's offense while being substantially ahead defensively. Paul George is a star, who happens to be still on the rise.
George isn't a defensive specialist, since Indiana are now relying on him to generate their perimeter offense, they have Stephenson taking the tough job, doing the chasing the guy through screens etc. George is getting the sit in the corner job. It's one of the dumbest things about all nba defensive teams, it's always filled by wing players who get the easy job, often based on the reputation of one season of taking the hard job, when it should be filled by players like Allen, Iguodala, Sefelosha, etc.
Indiana's offense is quite average, you do realise this right? People are talking about George and Hibbert like they're leading a Miami caliber offense, whereas what they're leading is tucked in amongst the Pistons, Lakers and Hawks.
Yeah I've been avoiding this conversation due to obvious bias (LOFs and Harden on the Rockets), but the way Paul George is playing, he's improved a lot of his weaknesses offensively from last season. Right now he's a complete player, and that's extremely rare to see. The only other complete players are Lebron and CP3. Even Durant only plays average defense. Harden this season, for whatever reason (injury or whatnot) has been a straight up defensive liability, its really hard to defend him when he's so completely one sided. Season still real early though, so Paul George may still revert back to last years form on offense.
