It's not that the show is fictional, it's that the show doesn't know what it is... Season 1 got people involved because it was a show based on real life issues in America, from terrorism to post traumatic stress, and it did a good job of integrating these issues into characters... Now it is just some soap opera about Carrie. The execututives at Showtime have destroyed the quality of the show in an effort to prolong it's run and just make more money... If this show would of just ended after season 1 with Brody blowing everybody up it would of been the greatest show ever. Instead Showtime wants to squeeze every penny out of Claire Daines and Damian Lewis that they can. http://m.rollingstone.com/movies/news/damian-lewis-brody-should-have-died-on-homeland-20130920
At first I thought the same because I thought too much time had elapsed. I am not sure if it was mentioned in the premiere, but I found a series recap that specified the two month time elapse.
Then stop watching it. I get your "family night" thing...put on some headphones and do something else. Let those of us that enjoy the show discuss it.
I dont get why people get so mad at me for pointing out flaws in the show... Isn't that the point of a forum? I mean we critique the Rockets all day long.
I ain't made at you But you like the Rockets. If you didn't like the Rockets, you wouldn't be here. You clearly don't like the show. Why take the time to constantly talk about how much you dislike the show...let alone watch a show you hate so much?
Homeland is just like the Rockets to me, the only reason I am so hard on it is because I see the potential... And the only way the network will rethink the approach is if they see people are willing to not just accept whatever they put on TV for an hour, and actually complain about it. I've sent Showtime emails but i doubt they even read them. So I figured I would see if there were other fans that felt the same.
I think he pointed out an issue most of these shows have. They sell their show on the first season and have a definitive plan and vision. They cannot afford to worry about later seasons because the show might never be picked up. Once it is they have to think about the future and create a story line that keeps characters like Brody and Carrie around however improbable.
Yup. Same thing happened with Prison Break on Fox. Also, Spoiler Can't believe javadi shot that one guy! I do find Carrie annoying though. Is she that good to deal with her annoying psychotic behavior?
Carrie is the new Dana. Her acting is annoying and her whole character. I knew that guy was not going to survive. I thought they were going to shoot him as soon as the iranians found them.
Agreed. The dude had to die. Like he told Brody before the bad guy came in, he'd be tortured for sure and would eventually give up Brody. Don't agree that Carrie is Dana, but she is definitely being written over the top at this point. She's too out of control for it to be believable. She refused a direct order from the assistant director of the CIA and had to be shot in order to be prevented from ruining an op that would have caused massive problems She took Brody off base without telling anyone right before he was to ship out for a major op and could have blown everything if Dana had called the police or something She blew up at the White House chief of staff in front of the Director of the CIA, assistant director, Senator and chairman of Senate committee and the general. All because she's in love. It's too much.
Carrie's character is well past the point of common sense at this point. They would have been put in custody with her erratic behavior. Personally I'm just pulling for Saul and Salieri.
Pretty sure Brody will die by the end of this season. They've made a big deal about how Brody always seems to survive while everyone else goes kaput. I think he's developed survivors guilt (especially with his new special forces buddy taking a bullet to the face) and will end up going out in a heroic blaze of glory.
She basically is that renegade cop in every cop drama where the cheif says something along the lines of "I should fire you, but you're too damn good at your job."
It is too much. She is like Leonard on big bang theory..same annoying character since day 1. The Dana story line is stupid too. We get it..you hate your life. Not sure how her brother seems perfectly normal but she is the only one having sooo much trouble with all this.
The showmakers somehow got deluded into thinking she's a good actress and a good character, so they threw some bits her way to show the drama. Too bad everyone hates her.
