Dude if Asik was black _ he may could at least consistently catch and dunk the ball and the Rockets would have never had to go after Howard...

Omer Asik is the lightest-skinned Turkish dude that I have ever seen. He looks more like...Irish.

What's your point? They have black people in Ireland.

Turkish African American ... Omer Asik

He is probably the whitest guy in the NBA.

    FYI...

A first round pick is a "top 30" pick
A lottery pick is a "top 14" pick
Wiggins and Parker will go one and two in the draft, guaranteed

When Morey says that he wants to trade for a "first round pick" that does not automatically mean it will be a top 3 pick. In a trade for Asik the Rockets might well end up with something like the #12 pick and #26 pick (or #9 and #23, etc.).

Hawes isn't a better player. He looks better now based on how his team is utilizing him.

He's playing very well in a contract year on a run, run, run! team. I think many posters here don't know Asik's real value. They see Asik play this season as Howard's backup and don't remember him as a starter averaging 10 points and 12 rebounds, and basically stopping players cold at the rim.

And can't say that Hawes is on the trade market. Anyway, I haven't seen that outside of our own speculation.

Asik played on a run run run team too... What's your point...??? I want the guy with some offense and his defense is decent and plus he can knock down the 3... And I said Hawes is SUPPOSEDLY on the trade block...

Hawes is the better of the two in my opinion.

10pts and 12 rebounds on a fast break team?

I mean he was solid, but that is hardly anything to be excited about.

We don't sniff the play-offs with out Asik last season. That is a ton to get excited about. Asik has proven his worth on the court.

Two?! If Morey can pull that off he will truly be a GM god.

just read what I wrote.i know what a first round pick is.
I wrote that you can trade the 2 first round pics that you can get for asik+ this year rockets first round pick+ a roll player for an unprotected top 5 pick.

    That's more than fair.

I've seen him mentioned by national media as on trade block.

    Looking at Morey's track record, I bet it's Lin-sane!
    I couldn't help myself...

I know it's just a pipe dream, but I wish Asik would reconsider his trade request! Having him back up Dwight, really solidifies our perimeter defense for the entire game! This team is solid right now, they just needs a little time of growing together as a team, and getting used to playing with one another and I can envision this team making multiple runs at a championship!

As far as getting 2 1st rounders for Asik, I don't think it's completely out of the question, big men with his elite defensive prowess are hard to come by, the only thing that holds him back somewhat is his offensive skills, throwing him a pass is a crapshoot on any giving play, and he has no jumpshot to speak of!

yep the AB and Lowry situations prove that, its funny how people here were screaming for Gogi after Lowry wasnt putting all-star numbers before his injury.

Clutchfans seems to have a love affair with euros and i dont have a problem with it

If we could get Asik for 2 first rounders i would do it, heck even 1 in this draft( unprotected).... Asik is a rebounder with really bad hands nothing more

No way. He's a defensive game changer, an elite rim protector. That's worth a lot.

How many turks have you seen in your life ? We're a bridge between the west and the east. If you're thinking that we're like arabian countries , don't . We don't speak the same language , neither we don't use the same alphabet ( yes we use latin alphabet like americans , surprised ? )
