If EVERYONE is seeing something completely opposite than you do, have you considered the possibility that your perception is incorrect? If all you see are the negative stuff then I am afraid you will never learn to appreciate his contributions as most folks do.

Some of you guys have no clue about Parson's value on the open market. $7 million? Really? $9 million is not fair either.

Batum signed for around $12 million per year, which is actually a value contract compared to some other players. Gordon Hayward just turned down 4 years for $40 million. Remember, guys like Rudy "KD" Gay signed for the max, and multiple teams were willing to pay him just that. Parsons is better than Gay is almost all facets of the game, except being a one on one ISO player.

Fair market value would probably be $12-14 million per year. Remember, Parsons has yet to hit his prime, so there is still potential for him to get better.

If a team is paying 13M per for Parsons, then that is overpaying and the team will most likely be mediocre. Harden gets that much!

Yeah I'm not so sure about paying him 12 - 14 million. 10 to 11 a year for 4 or 5 years at the most. You have to factor in the fact that Hayward rejected an extension with the Utah Jazz. Parsons, from all the things I've seen, wants to be here, to be a part of a young contending team.

Offensively yes, defensively no. Iggy used to make 15 million. The 13 million he's making this year is the start of his new contract for a past his prime Iggy.

Parsons is going to make 10-12 million if he shows any growth next year at all.

    71.Andre Biedrins $ 9,000,000

Some olders guys who have already made bank took less to win, and some younger players (stephen curry) signed an extension before thier value went up. But all in all, 8 figures is clearly not reserved for the elite.

So yes, Parsons is gonna make 9 Mill easy, probably closer to 11 mill. Salary cap wise the difference between 10 and 13 million will be inconsequential in regards to signing FA.

You guys who honestly think 8 million is overpaying for a player of Parsons caliber are delusional.

Yes, thats what he's saying, that's what I'm saying, that's what most of the board is saying. Over the last 2 years his continued improvement has swayed many people.

You Parsons detractors at this point are very much the minority, although a very vocal minority I will give you that.

i will be the first to eat crow if that happens. why would you tie up 10 million on him when you could pay 2-3 mill more for a true championship piece?

just cuz some GMs gave out bad contracts, including the one given to scola, doesn't mean that morey is going to. i hope he doesn't!

who is this championship piece you are thinking og at 12-13 million?

Some of the posts here are comical. Do you guys know how to value your own players?

Parsons is playing stellar basketball right now. Why knock the kid?

I'm sure the Morey is all over it if we can pay 12-13mil to replace Parsons with an even better player. But who is that "championship piece" available to us at that price? So what's your point?

You either pay Parsons 10+mil to keep him or see him walk to other (good or bad) teams that are willing to pay him. You can't just say "can't win a championship with xxx as a 3rd star" and replace him with Mr. Cap-space to ride Harden and Howard's peak years.

let the season play through, or at least halfway through before we start talking how much hes worth. If he can keep his numbers up consistently over the rest of the season i can see his value being pretty high

I think he will get around 12 million per year. Shooting 60.7% 2pt pct, 39% 3pt pct, 53.2 fg pct is excellent. He is able to be the leading scorer on any given night while also being able to set team mates up. People think guys like him grow on trees they are wrong. Coming into the league lot of people doubted him and people on here counted guys like budinger, twill, and morris better than him. He has continued to improve every season, can shoot ft's to now being almost 200 points higher than rookie year. Can't shoot people say now a career fg pct 48% while 37% from deep. In a couple seasons I can see him as a 20 5 5 guy, you haven't seen a finished product yet. I have watched him since college (gator fan) and he has improved every season as a ball player. He knows how to adjust his game to fit what team needs and is perfect fit on and off court to this team.

Why not? He's a very good, if not great player that is likely to get even better than he already is.

He has potential to be a superstar. Most teams would dream of having just two of those. He would give us at least three.

Stop saying that potential for 23-25 points, 5-7 Assists, and 6-8 Rebounds a game in addition to very good defense is the potential to be a superstar?

    *Looks at Harden's stats*

    24/6/5 with terrible defense.

Hm. No thanks. I won't stop. Thanks for the offer, though.
