Ask for 2 x 1st's, maybe you get lucky and get 3 if you run into a desperate GM. Most likely you end up with a 1st and some 2nd's if you end up with a trade package.

Dwight/Asik 48 minutes is too good.

art of negotiation. i think that makes sense.. but if you say Morey is delusional, you're actually low-balling Morey.

Are these the teams with 2 picks to spare?? We would probably have to take a bad contract back, but that's okay.
    Personally, i don't think it's going down.

If the organization believes they have a shot and winning it all this year or next, I'm not sure trading Asik for 2 first rounders would be a good move unless Morey already has a flip lined up to get a key player

Whether a preconceived plan is on the table or not, having an abundance of picks available in a trade is always helpful if not necessary in landing the top players.

Asking 2 first rounders for Asik ==> will settle for 2 first rounders for Asik and DMo or a first rounder and a recent former first rounder for Asik and DMo.

Rather want to keep Asik and ride it out this season with him. I believe we will have a shot at championship when Asik is on our roster. Howard/Asik combo will give opponents nightmare.

The problem with that is that the market dries up after this year due to his salary being so high next year..15m +.......

True. Watch what happens in the next two months. If Morey doesn't trade Asik by the Feb deadline, he's essentially planning to hold Asik hostage until the Summer of 2015…. which Asik will not be too happy about. Doesn't mean he won't play hard for the Rockets late in the season and during the playoffs, but he's absolutely banking on getting moved by February… you are playing with fire on that one, and even a mild mannered personality like Omer could cause distractions.

There still is a possibility that Morey doesn't trade him because the deals are sooooo bad. Morey could think that its better to get 2 or 3 otherworldly performances from him in the playoffs than it is to take back bad contracts and crappy picks just to appease him.

However I don't think even Morey is that cutthroat and will ultimately move him if anything for a deal like Asik for Humphries expiring and one of the Brooklyn picks. Hopefully he can do a little bit better or get the 2014 Brooklyn pick in the deal. Something like that would have to be a backup deal unless Morey really is holding that much value in the potential for a few decent Asik performances late in the season and an expensive insurance policy.

I have a funny feeling there is a much bigger deal(s) going to go down, most likely involving Lin, if Morey can get the deal he wants for Asik.

Or that the secondary deal in February would be centered around Lin with the pick/s used as a sweetener in the deal. Maybe with that deal, he knows that particular team does not need or want a center.

Still I do think they hold higher value on Lin than one might think. Maybe even as high or higher than Asik. Id think they'd have to have someone pretty special targeted if they were going to plan on trading both Lin & Asik essentially for this one player.

Kind of hard to trust the source if they don't realize Asik only counts $8.3 million against the cap next year even though his salary is $15 million.

Im thinking those 2 firsts, plus our own, plus terrence williams would have to get minnesota's and portland's gm's interested if klove or lma became available.
