Didn't watch the game tonight but a win on the road against the spurs on a back to back shows Mchale is doing something right!

Typical mchale coaching. Up 30 points, lose the lead in the 4th quarter.

Isn't this what the Spurs did to come back into the game? Launching 3 pointers left and right? Fire Popovich?

There's just a tad bit of a difference between the two.
I hope you'll figure that out.

The difference being that the Rockets defense still stinks and the Spurs still got decent penetration into the paint to kick it out for the three.

When the Rockets go cold it's because their penetration was basically stopped by the Spurs and they then jack ill-advised 3-pointers looking for some sort of an offensive spark.

The Spurs defense is impressive and actually does generate their offense. Our offense has no connection to our defense except that guys look too tired to put in the dogged defensive effort after running so much.

I'm not sold on the offense that we run being effective in the playoffs (even though this was like a playoff game) to win games on its own merit. They really need to work on defense, boxing out the 2nd and 3rd offensive rebounders from the opposing team.

As an aside, they really need to work on entry passes to Dwight in the post. Prior to that they need to realize that Dwight does seal his man deep in the paint and set up such that they can get the ball to him soon enough. Most passes to Dwight's post are on his 2nd or 3rd post attempt by which point his defender has put his weight and legs behind pushing Dwight out of the paint. Solve this problem and I think the Rockets will look so much more threatening for a Finals appearance this season.

Rockets gave up 106 points. Spurs gave up 112 points. Popovich coached team gave up 112 points to McFail's bunch of no-Lin young Rockets at home with the refs on their side.

If the Rockets defense stinks, what do you think of the Spurs defense?

We won on the road and the Spurs lost at home? Yeah, I agree. Seems pretty clear cut to me.

What's the world coming to? It's no longer acceptable that the Rockets win by 6 on the road against a top 2 or 3 team? Because we didn't win by 20?

Mchale did alright tonight but he definitely can learn a thing or 2 from Pop on how to run better and more effective plays.

WTF is wrong with you people? Acting like blueblood aristocrats. "*sniff sniff* I found the win unsatisfactory, and a record of 13-5 falls woefully short of my standards." Just go to the Heat board and D-ride.

The Spurs defense is good - our offense was just on fire (excluding the 3rd quarter).

The Spurs offense was very good, but not on fire. Yet they matched our scoring with their 3rd quarter run.

The Rockets played a really good game, but there are still holes that need to be addressed. They don't look complete to me. That doesn't mean that the coach needs to be fired, but if by late March we still have those defensive problems then the coaching staff needs to try something different.

You are acting like an absolute ass.

Sorry, but some fans - whilst still happy with the win - still see numerous faults that they want fixed to make this team even better.

Even though he lost, Popovich still outcoached McHale this game.
