Hypothetical: If you were a Seattle fan, which team would you least want to move to your city?

This is just for fun. A slight twist on the worst franchise question.

So suppose the NBA has approved of a team going to Seattle. It will happen starting next year(2014). And you are given a single veto on the team coming in. You can choose one team to ensure that team won't go to Seattle.

Note that whichever team it is, the ownership changes to a hypothetical Seattle group that will probably spend for a contender, but not at obscene levels. However, said team will keep all its draft obligations the same. Meaning even if the Knicks move to Seattle, they still owe Denver a bunch of picks in the future.

    Knicks!

What other owner would throw a tantrum and bench the cheerleaders because the team sucks?

    Kings.

Sacramento fans are fantastic. Hate to see them lose the team. And the ownership/management sucks. A very bad franchise.

Hmm, personally if I were a Seattle fan I'd be desperate for any team to move back to Seattle, no matter what franchise it is lol esp. if the ownership will change and all the GMs will change.

Worst team because the fans are too good:
    -Sacramento

Worst team because in the short term:
-Brooklyn Nets too old, no cap relief in sight and no draft picks to look forward to either

Worst team if old management is kept:
    -Cavs

Scratch what I said about any team, if the Cavs are going to Seattle and they're gonna keep their old FO I'd rather they stay in Cleveland than see this sorry excuse of a franchise. I consider the Cavs FO to be one fo the worst FOs ever, I'd rather trust Isiah Thomas than those bunch of crap. It doesn't matter what they get, give them capspace they'll waste it on guys like Larry Hughes and Mo Williams. Give them top picks and they'll waste it on guys like Tristan Thompson, and even worse barely NBA rotational players like Bennett (who makes Bynum look like Hakeem by comparison) and Dion "illness" Waiters. Even Cavs fans who hated LBJ for "betraying" them now love him again, because they realize that the Cavs' inept management was what pushed LBJ away.

    the lakers or celtics.

if my city were to get a new franchise, i would want it to be a crappy team that has not won anything so i can build a new legacy instead of leech off the accomplishments of when the team was in another city,

I would actually want the bobcats because that means you can start of fresh because the bobcats haven't even won a playoff game

The Thunder. Cause I wouldn't want that POS owner anywhere near my city.

Thunder. That's like asking Houston fans if they wanted the Titans back.

    I would say the Lakers.

Seattle would want a relatively fresh start in building a team or have a currently successful team. The Lakers are neither. They're middle of the pack, they have legacy players on the roster and no draft picks. Plus with Kobes contract, the new owners need to spend a lot of money on free agents to make the team successful.

Pacers. I'll rent a studio in Seattle and go down there every weekend to watch Paul George and Roy Hibbert play :)

The Kings aren't going anywhere. They just changed their ownership and this new owner looks to want to do positive things to the team, including spending money to get free agents. I think they can be a pretty good team in the coming years. Boogie Cousins is coming into his own.

This doesn't answer the question, but I wouldn't be shocked to see the Bucks in Seattle in a few years. Attendance and ratings are both pretty low, and they're having trouble finding any funding for their NBA mandated new stadium.

I never thought about this angle. But suppose the Texans never came into existence back in 2001(?). And Bud Adams, let's say disappears into the thin air, and his kids were willing to sell the team to McNair and relocate back to Houston.

As a fan, you really would've preferred some other random NFL team, like the Bengals or the Cardinals, instead of the Oilers back?

Right now, the Thunder still do exist with their ******* owner and Seattle is hoping to get the next team. Question is: which of the current teams would a Seattle fan want.

The answer is the Thunder. There is no other answer.

Now, if you want to change the question to include, "Other than the Thunder", then OK

I kind of agree on the Thunder point.

But the Cavs are really a garbage organization, they had 8 years of LeBron and surrounded him with nothing. Once he leaves, they make one poor decision after another, not to mention having an owner that makes a buffoon of himself every chance.

I'm still not happy with the decision, but at this point it's hard to blame LeBron for not wanting to waste away his career with that franchise.
