That's what the NBA should do about the Hack A Howard strategy ... Whoever has the ball at the time of the intentional foul should shoot FT's.

That was a terrible call tbh. I would have been furious if we were the opposing team.

But since we got the win, who cares.

How was that a bad call? That was a pretty smart move by Harden. He got in shooting motion at te right time. Very good call.

    Pure PWNAGE.

apparently there this rule about hack-a-player where if the teamate (Harden) with the ball is in shooting motion while you are fouling Howard, the team mate (Harden) shoots the freethrows for his attempt, in this case a three pointer.

Correct me if I am wrong...

Isn't the free throw still supposed to go to Howard and Harden's three is good if it goes?

    This

Howard still had to shoot free throws after James

Well technically hack-a-xxx is considered a loose ball foul, so the same rules apply. If we are on offense and a player is in shooting motion and somebody gets fouled away from the ball, they would count the bucket + 1 freethrow for the player getting fouled, or give the shooter freethrows if he misses the shot.

Honestly, I don't think Harden should have shot three free throws but I won't complain. They just need to get rid of Hack a Howard or Dwight needs to grow up and hit them (Like he has been)

You mean, Howard still got to shoot * a free throw * after Harden.

ooooooo okay that makes sense now, I didn't really understand the rule

I always knew the and-1 rule, but I've never seen awarding freethrows to the shooter when he misses

i honestly thought the official was calling the foul on Marco for hitting Harden's arm on the 3pt attempt.

Well think about it this way: if a guy gets fouled while shooting a three, if he makes it he gets 3 pts + 1 freethrow. But if he misses then he only gets 3 freethrows not 4. They do the same thing with foul away from the ball while someone is shooting.

So if Harden had made that 3, Howard would vet 1 ft. Since he didnt, he got 3 fts.

Hack a anyone is looser strategy. Might as well throw in the towel. I hated when we did it last year.

The foul call was on Harden being fouled, not Dwight. Some people do not use there brains.

Not really captain smartass. Read my posts. It was foul on Howard but Harden was in shooting motion while Howard got fouled. Thats why he shot 3 freethrows
