Asik/Lin is one of the worst trade proposals I've heard yet. Gay is horrible, DeRozan is nearly as bad. We don't need two ball dominant chuckers
Gay didn't become a chucker until his Toronto days. He was a pretty solid player when he was with Memphis. Put him next to Dwight/Harden/Parsons and he would thrive.
He was let go because Memphis didn't want to pay the luxury tax. Remember that Memphis team was a contender? Now look at them.
really worried about harden's health..need to get a sg/sf who can slash if he really need to take time off..terrence ross?
Yea but they missed him once they got to the WCF... I think Memphis was better off with Gay... It's ok to have a shot chunker on that team because they don't have a lot of offense. But Houston doesn't need him and Morey likes efficient players and that's something Gay is not...
Lowry is likely gone this summer if not sooner, and they could probably turn around and trade Asik for Perkins+pick or something, i.e. something that Morey might choose not to do himself.. However, i don't see it as a great fit for Houston.
Good question. I'd say Varejao. Two situations. 1. Varejao gets back close to last year's form. Then it's an easy choice for a contending team. 2. Varejao stays as he is, i.e. he doesn't quite have the legs. He was never a jumper but now he hardly jumps at all, he's not as fast either. Instead of an elite defender last year, right now he's just an above average defender with a good elbow shot. If that's who he stays from now on, then it's a tough choice. On the other hand, Waiters has some upside, but he's not much of a fit for the Rockets, I'd just play Lin over him. I don't see a good reason to give some of Lin's minutes to Waiters on a contender. So I might go with Varejao still, even if he stays the same. Since I think it's a bit too early to know if he'll get better or not... I'd go with Varejao.
Varejao's a very good player but no way I want him on any team I root for, dude is never ever healthy.
Simple trade Orlando sends Affalo,Price and rights to Vasquez We send Asik We get a scoring 2 to help spell Harden and a solid PG to help Beverly and Lin
Is it Fran the PF? I was hoping it isn't and wanted to see if Morey could talk him into coming over and Playing for us. If not my Bad.
I am not so sure the Cavs wouldn`t do a Varejao/ Waiters for Asik deal. I am almost certain they would do it if we throw in a sweetener (pick or a young talent, maybe even Smith). Whatever they are doing it ain`t working. Now it seems like it is all about the future and that means the coming draft. Varejao plays no part in their future, he is too old and injury prone. Waiters seems to play no part in their future since they appear to be shopping him. Asik can be a valuable piece for at least the next 5 years. And they might be just the piece they need in the middle, he would look great next to Thompson. It is rumored they are looking at Shumpert for Waiters - Asik is the way better deal and Varejao isn`t that valuable for them anways. I actually think it is more a question of if Morey does it. Varejao is often injured - Waiters plays no defense and seems to be trouble in the locker room. Of course, if it works we have our scorer and potential star 6th man off the bench and our stretch PF/backup center with excellent defense and rebounding. So a high risk high reward deal.
Milwaukee no way near to be PO team, they have Zaza as the only legit center, and a lot of power-forwards. And he is such a garbage (hater of this dude, yet don't know why) HOU trades: Omer Asik (C) MIL trades: John Henson (PF) and Ekpe Udoh (PF) Ekpe Udoh won't be with our team next year cause he has 1y contract, get rid of him. But John Henson is such an underrated player, and yet he gets no consistent minutes even if provides all-star stats. Just look at those from last season: @MIA - 27 minutes - 17 points (7/12 FG, 3/4 FT), 18rebs (8off) vsHOU - 27 minutes - 11 points (5/10 FG, 1/3 FT), 15rebs (7off), 2blk, 2stl @ORL - 41 minutes - 17 points (7/17 FG, 3/5 FT), 25rebs (6off), 3st, 7blk vsDEN - 31 minutes - 14 points (6/13 FG, 2/6 FT), 15rebs (8off), 2ast, 4blk, 3stl @OKC - 44 minutes - 28 points (11/19 FG, 6/8 FT), 16rebs (8off) And many other games with 10+ board in under 30 minutes. This season yet to get a huge night, I think, because of the coach strategy. Just look at Sanders struggles to get numbers he had last year. Henson is just 22yo, second year in NBA, great contract and this season has 5.9rebs and 2.1blk in 24 minutes as average. Just the spark we need now to be contenders. He has no 3pt range yet, but he is much better defender than TJones or DMo, great hands on offense to grab those rebs. HOU trades: Greg Smith for 2nd rounder. That's obvious, just matter of time.
