AB is proven and PB is not, but PB does have the ability to set the tone early on so....I'd rather keep PB as the starter
Bev...2 of 7 from the field, 1 of 5 from three, one assist, zero steals (Brooks meanwhile had 3), 4 boards. And Bev is putting up that kind of stat line on a consistent basis now--i.e. around 33% from the field, 25% from deep, averages one or two assists per game, and gets less rebounds than Lin. Yeah, I guess we need to keep starting him...
Our D is pretty bad. One guy can't change that. I just don't think Bev does anything well. He plays hard D, but given the rest of team doesn't his D is not useful.
We are a top 3-5 offense in the league. We don't need another scorer in our starting lineup. We do need someone who gives his entire effort on D and is somewhat consistently effective about it. Brooks might be a better offensive option, but he is a complete sieve defensively. We don't need to start a pint sized SG at PG.
Somethings gonna give. I don't see Lin playing as 3rd string when he gets back, nor do I see AB going back to 3rd string. One of Beverley, Brooks or Lin is going to have to be traded whatever Morey can get the most value of. I can't see Beverley because he does one thing the others don't do as well, play defense. Maybe Lin can play next to Brooks, but that will just cut into Harden's minutes and thats a big no no. Will obviously be in a separate trade for a draft pick or something (like AB for late first rounder in 2014) or packaged with Asik (if Lin then it will probably be a all star/superstar)
I think one of the 3 will be gone. Bev probably has the least trade value right now with his current production. Most likely JLin or Brooks. Canaan has been playing well in D-league so they might bring him up if they don't get a PG in return.
No he won't. AB is a system PG. He can't play at this level elsewhere and is really loyal. Even last year when he didn't get any PT he said it felt great the crowd cheered him on whenever he came into the game. He knows he has a shot here and won't let it go, especially if he already signed for much less.
how about as a 7th man... I always thought having Brooks is what makes it more flexible to play Lin as the 6th man. Anyhow, we were supposed to be playing 9-10 deep but McHale went back to safety and played a tight rotation. I thought that was a mistake with the talents we have. Harden sitting was good for the team. McHale needs to trust his guys more and with that many talents, have every player give max efforts anytime on the floor, especially on the defensive end. good for the long haul
Disagree. AB will be back to 3rd string happily. He has no ambition to be 2nd string or even starter. Having said that of course I believe he can be a starter PG. AB can not be traded. Lin won't be traded, he is needed by this team to run the second team.
