Americans were asked to place European countries on a map

Hey Europe, where's Alabama, thought so b****es.

 

I don't understand how people can be so ignorant.

Sure, I can understand not knowing all the countries that Yugoslavia split up into, and MAYBE not knowing some of the Scandinavian countries, but COME ON, MAN.

 

It is always nice to see Amsterdam is a country.

 

Some were pretty impressive on the lower Atlantic which makes sense since everything's named after royalty. Otherwise it's probably our fault for setting every single movie and TV show in either LA or New York.

 

I blame Europe for having that many countries. I mean seriously, who the hell wants to drive 5 miles and pass through 10 countries in the process? :grin:

 

Most Americans can't name the provinces of Canada, or states in Mexico, even though they are our closest neighboring countries.

 

why dont we show americans filling out states on a US map..

why the fk would i know where ireland is..

 

I don't see the problem here. I thought they were correct.

 

Knowing where countries are is a bit different to knowing where states are in a country.

 

The joke is on you... The United States spends more money on education than any country in the world.

The problem is the public school system sucks, and there are plenty of reasons why. But money isn't one of those reasons.

 

Why? Regardless of whether you're talking about political or economical world-wide impact, a bigger state in the US probably has as much or more than most if not all of the Eastern European countries. I can probably get 50% of the countries correct, basically by filling out the western side of the map stretching to Poland/Austria, plus Ukraine, Greece, and Russia. But seriously, why would most of these countries matter at all?

As a huge fan of history growing up, I've always been fairly good at retaining memories of countries learned in class. But in my life, the only times I've found this knowledge useful is either when watching the news, vacation destinations, or meeting someone from one of those countries and not seem like you're ignorant of them.
