Because they were his team at the time, the Rockets had the power to set Dragic's market value. Phoenix just based their offer on barely increasing Houston's offer.

Complete crap. Dragic has had two games scoring over 30 so far this season. Lin has had two games scoring over 30 so far this season. Dragic's averages are going to tumble once Bledose comes back from injury. Dragic and Lin right now are statistically basically the same player, only Lin is younger and has more upside.

GODDAMITT ALLAROUNDPLAYER the facts have been laid out, at some point you will accept it, you're free to believe the Rocket main target was Lin all along, but you're simply incorrect

    One more thing.

If Dragic was on the Rockets, THERE IS NO WAY he would lose his starting PG position in favor of Beverley like Lin did, & I think Beverley is a very good player.

Yeah you're right. We'd just trade for Bledsoe

Yeah, and the Mavericks made it to the NBA finals twice, and have a championship ring. What's more important to a franchise ?

What have the Suns done with their MVP player?

Ok, but if the Mavericks would have kept Nash together with Dirk they could have won 3 or more championships.

The Suns play Dragic & Bledsoe in the backcourt at the same time, so that is not an issue.

They've played their best with Bledsoe out, winning 3 of their last 4, so when Bledsoe returns he may come off the bench.

Look at the talent on the Suns:

Plumlee, Frye, Tucker, Green, Morris twins & Bledsoe has missed the last 6 games.

Yet they are 8-7 and snapped the Blazers 11-game win streak.

If Dragic & Lin switched places, I seriously doubt they would have the same position in the standings.

Honestly, they would probably only have 3 or 4 wins.

Its possible. Dragic is not near the defensive liability that Lin is.

Of all people, you use Lin as an example. Lin, the same guy that gave multimillion dollar deals to scrubs just for playing next to him in MSG.

He also played with an All-Star center (Chandler), Shumpert before he injured his knee & had an offensive genius as coach (D'Antoni). Suns coach Hornacek is a rookie. FAIL!

In the man's defense, he's playing under a coach who makes decisions like:
-Trading Ray Allen for Stephon Marbury
-Trading Brandon Roy for Randy Foye
-Run an offense through an iso-first SG while starting two centers who can't get their own shots.

I like Bev and Dragic, but I'm not holding Kevin McHale's roster decisions against anyone.

FAIL? what are you 12? Dragic has been in the league far longer than Lin.

    Lin
    Fields
    Shump
    Jeffries
    Chandler

Lin played some great basketball in a lineup of offensive ineptitude. If you don't believe that you're just a plain hater. Why didn't Toney Douglas look like a borderline allstar in his system? You're really trying to justify that when he was the 12th man off the bench?

The fact that you compared giving Goran Dragic a player option to giving Dwight Freaking Howard a player option shows how deluded you are. It's exactly like LOFs complaining why Lin doesn't get to run the show or whatever else people think of, you're failing to grasp the difference between Dragic getting a player option and DWIGHT HOWARD.

Again, the fact that you think Morey would fk around one of the more likeable rockets in recent memory in free agency just so he could have a backs to the wall stab in the dark at landing Lin, completely undermines your credibility when you have such frankly r****ded views.

Dragic: 5 years exp. Lin: 3 years exp.

I never said that Lin wasn't an excellent player. I'm just saying Dragic is on another level.

Dragic's game has a lot of the same attributes as Ginobili who is a Hall of Fame player.

I can also answer your point easily by saying I believe that Morey in this instance had about as much say-so as you or me as far as the string of decisions which were made. We know for a fact (because Morey stated so in an interview) that Les the owner was calling him daily during Linsanity in N.Y. & chewing him out for letting Lin go from the Rockets.

You don't see how, based on that information alone, my analysis is actually the most logical assumption as to what really took place?

    Not exactly.

    Dragic :
5 years experience in the NBA
10 years as a Professional player
27 years old (at or near peak)

    Lin
3 year experience in the NBA
3 years experience as a Professional player
25 years old (2-3 years from peak)

That 5 extra years of professional level experience, training and work outs makes a HUGE difference versus Lin who was a student athlete at Harvard earning his degree.

Personally, if Lin isn't at or near Dragic's level today (debatable), I think it's likely that he'll be better in 2 years than what Dragic is today.

Younger, more upside, similar offensive output, worse defensively, with a crazy good work ethic.

    I'd take Lin.

That said, clearly Morey would have preferred to keep one of his existing PG's (Lowry or Dragic). You never want to go to FA if you can avoid it, especially since Morey himself thought getting Lin was a long shot.

Of course, Morey may have been underestimating the sheer idiocy of James Dolan and Co....

You shouldn't measure by years in the league but by games played.

Lol no dragic is better than Lin but not by that much of a margin.

If anything they are the same tier of point guards
