Oh man having a 2nd playmaker is the worst thing in the world. The Heat have multiple playmakers including their starting PG Chalmers. Oh no we can only have 1 guy run an offense on the whole team. Get out of here.
LOL so this thread is yet another disguised LOF thread? Ok so here are some facts: 1. Lin is basically an inferior version of Harden, he's a really good PnR guy who has suspect outside shooting. Because you want Harden to have the ball, Lin's ability to create for other isn't as important so instead of playing with Dwight he plays with Asik and the 2nd unit. 2. Brooks is better at running the offense and scoring then Bev, but because of his size Brooks is not a good defender, and he can't really contribute when his shots aren't falling. Bev is more consistent because he's a defender and a decent rebounder. So really you want Brooks as an x-factor, when they get used to bev being in the lineup you put in Brooks as a situational shocktrooper.
Dude try to comprehend this simple concept. Every head coach has been critic in recent memory: JVG, Adelman, McHale during his 1st season. Ever starting PG fans questioned if he should start over his backup except during SF3 first stay with the team. Kenny or Sam, Rafer or James or a shot SF3, Brooks or Lowry, Lowry or Dragic But now McHale can not be critic. A rookie PG who can not score or run an offense can not be questioned if he should start. And you point to threads that prove this every point. In all those threads any time a fan questions a bone-head coaching mistake from McHale some fans all of a sudden think it's out of bounds now. It wasn't the case during McHale's first year here but now as I said he is the Teflon coach and we must all fall into line and think his decision making is infallible or else we are bad fans.
You got that A- backwards. It is Beverly the defensive specialist who should be an x-factor on defense. No head coach in the NBA would start someone as limited as Beverly with Brooks and Lin. And other teams have ball dominate twos and threes and they do not start a defensive specialist over more proven PG with better PG skills.
Beverley is the starting point guard of the 4th best offense in the league. PG's don't run the offense in our system. A PG who can run an offense or score is not needed for our system.
You're are the prime example why McHale is now untouchable even though he is an avg coach at best and makes many bad coaching moves. No other avg head coach in NBA history has been given this kind of respect. Even good coaches get critic but now this avg coach is risen to the status of an all time great like Phil Jackson and his every coaching move is the correct one and anyone who dares says otherwise even if they have numerous solid reasons if a bad fan. I wonder what changed from season 1 to now that McHale is held is such esteem.
Didn't the Rockets have the BEST offense in the league last season? Maybe a PG who can run an offense would make us better. Is that possible?
One last point then all you McHale apologist can call anyone who questions his coaching acumen names. Aaron Brooks played with Yao Ming. Brooks learned how to feed the ball to the big man. Isn't it possible if we started Brooks over a defensive specialist that perhaps our starting center would beast all game long like he did in Orlando. Something to consider for all of you who thinks our offense is perfect with Beverly over a PG who can actually get asts and run a play or two.

Howard can dunk all day long if he is given the ball in the paint where he likes it and lob passes done well like he has his whole career. Something to consider.
In those threads you get attacked if you dare question McHale's coaching decisions. Point of this thread. How did an avg coach become immune to critic?
Except for the following elite teams/coaches: 1.) NBA Champion Mavericks coach of the year Carlisle starting defensive specialist Stevenson over ball handling Jason Terry. 2.) NBA Champion Spurs coach of the year Popavich starting defensive role playing specialist Bowen/Finley over ball handling and all star Ginobili 3.) NBA Western Conference champion Thunder coach Scott Brooks starting defensive role player Thabo ball handling and all star Harden.
No, last year we had the sixth best. We have improved by two spots even with the offensive enemic twin tower experiment. Something to consider is for you to stop posting.
How you can make these assertions when there are threads with hundreds of posts criticizing McHale and questioning Beverley as a starter? And as someone who is barely a fan of McHale the coach, I don't recall anyone dismissing critiques as out of bound. But if they do, simply ignore them! And you're not being fair to Beverley at all. If you want to measure Beverley's production on the court do it based on the rational behind him starting. Look at his defensive impact.
I have. That thread was created in April 2012 during McHale's first year as head coach of the Rockets. I did not participate because I thought it was unfair to judge him so soon. As I said many times McHale was treated like any other Houston Rockets coach back then during his 1st season. He was attacked like JVG and Adelman before him. It was a normal clutch fan thread, Now since last season you are no longer allowed to critic McHale or you are a bad fan. First time in our team's history an Avg coach has this kind of Teflon. If you go through that thread it proves the point of this thread. How McHale now can never been questioned even when he makes obvious coaching mistakes or else you as a fan is a bad fan. My point from the start.
