Howard Stern? started in all, so why not? note to self: get out of these Kanye West threads before I start hating all his genius's first albums.
Kanye more like served the host who just seems to be jealous. Kanye is this generation's Michael Jackson and is arguably the most relevant person on this planet other than Barack Obama. I personally didn't like Yeezus or his last album but they were both critically acclaimed by most all music critics. Kanye is a revolutionary and will be considered as such in 20 years looking back as he suggests.
I am not sure if youre serious or sarcastic. I hope sarcastic. Kanyes and Michael Jackson should NEVER be mentioned in the same sentence unless it is "Kanye will NEVER be Michael Jackson" This asshat has become a side show, not a main event. We care more about how he acts than what he says, and THAT is when you stop being transcendent. For him to be anywhere close to MJ level, the world will have to forgive his intricacies BECAUSE of his great art. As it stands now, Kanye has become synonymous with his own bizarre behavior rather than his music.
After listening to this .... and I don't really care. I don't see where he "got his ass handed to him" OP is wrong. Kanye was fine. I need to get out of these threads. Don't know where OP thinks Kanye wasn't just fine in the talk. sure He wasn't like Ice T on Oprah,,,but who is,,,between Ice T, Cornell West and Spike Lee at media attack levels. Who is
Damn .. opened this thread hoping some bad ass paparazzi kicked his ass or something .. very disappoint i am
How did he get his ass handed to him....? The guy was simply telling him he didn't like his last album and he should go to his old self by making great music that he used to make...!!!
Kanye could be said he brought "rap" to Pop Music. but that's just Pop music There is so much better music out there even in his early days that makes defending his genius disturbing to how we look at music tastes. New music...New Play....do it! don't settle for regular
I was a college DJ when rap hit...at KTRU...the most powerful college radio station in the US...based on 500 kWs. You call Kanye a Genius. This is a "Genius" rapper from 1991, imso. And yes, I did know all rap at that point in my life. I loved it all. But this guy, I don't know. He played everything He played all instruments on this song. Like Beck. He was a one man band. His name is MC 900 FT Jesus,,,,From Dallas. <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/3KB54p8_wh8?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/3KB54p8_wh8?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> I can post even more of his music
Not sure if you're serious, but most radio channels do that and upload the material on their youtube channels, websites, etc.
MC 900 FT Jesus 1991 again playing all the tracks all instruments... From Dallas wait for the 1:30 transition when he switches to his sax. dude's so awesome. You can feel it building all rap long. <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/U9fZlNbyLVU?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/U9fZlNbyLVU?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

If you've gotten this far....this is great Truth is Out of Style...awesome <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/PYtlpG0hb38?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/PYtlpG0hb38?hl=en_US&version=3&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
This is his most famous song as played on Beevis and Butthead the complilation of these four diverse songs by one person on all instruments is g e n u i s in 1991 in Kanye's rapping terms. Disagree if you want. But all you will be doing is saying Rap wasn't mainstream yet. <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/LA-AvBjBm5k?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/LA-AvBjBm5k?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Also...this is the interview you are looking for... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/S78tT_YxF_c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> The goodness starts around 16 minutes. Odd how he just flipped like that. Hubris at it's finest. He thinks that Jordan's are still popular because of him.
This was one of Spike Jonze's first music videos. And someone needs to put a 5150 hold oh Kanye's ass.
