Yeah, Scola being 35 years old makes it very doubtful he would resign here for any meaningful role. He could play a Camby type of role but we wouldn't be able to rely on him. All you can hope for is he does great in Indiana and makes it to the finals against the Rockets, where the Rockets proceed to spank his team and win the 'ship.
Had to bump. I re-watched Games 4 & 5 last night, and I think my memory of what tremendous defense Garcia played on KD had faded a bit. He was all over KD for all 94 feet, over and over and over again -- and I think a sweep may have been a definite possibility if not for him absolutely forcing KD to give the ball up to Reggie Jackson on that final possession. Just super, super impactful. Come onnnnnn, October!
I just want to give props to Garcia. He signs for less money to come back to help this team, and damn once be three ball starts falling again I think he will be an important part to a playoff run. Anyone else see the fire in his eyes last night? He has the toughness our team has lacked since chuck, and somewhat Lowry, left.
he just needs to shoot the dang rock. anytime he puts the ball on the floor bad things happen. cisco, just shoot baby!!!!
He hit damn near everything in the preseason. Problem is since his shot hasn't been falling, he's been driving a lot more and that's not what we need him to do. He's still playing aggressive defense and seems to always get at least one block from behind though I wish he wouldn't get so many fouls going for impossible steals. His shooting will average out, I'm sure. He'll definitely be a key role player in our playoff run and slump or not, he's a key bench/locker room guy. Good guy Garcia.
Glad he's back! A lot of people forget that he was sick for a while and had to get his rhythm and legs back under him.
I don't get all these guys playing while sick. Unless you are MJ in the finals, you're not good enough to take minutes from those who are healthy with such a deep roster.
I like guys wanting to play and being hungry... It's up to the coaches to put out the lineup and tell guys they need to take time off to heal. Ballers will try to get out there even if it's not good for them. That's how SA has been doing things for a while now, keeping their old guys healthy by managing play time and when to take days off.
Problem is coaches won't know how sick players really are. It's not like they get a physical checkup, and even if they had one you couldn't always tell. If you are 80-90%, oftentimes your backup is a better choice. If you are less than that, then for sure your backup is a better choice. Coaches are "supposed" to be able to tell if you are playing badly, but by that time you've already cost your team a number of possessions and possibly several quarters or the game, as it is not always clear to a coach, for example, if you missed a shot because you are sick or because you are just a bit off and warming up.
