server #2 can print out another receipt, write a nasty message and switch it with the real receipt. Customer still gets charged full amount + tip, server #1 still gets a nasty message. i'm not saying it's probable, chances are she's lying, but other possibilities also exist.
she seems like a scam artist, but that doesn't mean it's an indictment on gay people, which is what some people (usuals) took the opportunity to do in this thread.
no sir. -Server prints bill and hands it to the customer. -Customer reviews bill and gives card to server. -Server runs card and pre authorizes the card. Server gives card, bill and two receipts to customer. -Customer completely fills out receipt one, adds tip and final total. Customer signs receipt one. Customer takes bill and receipt two with them. -After the customer has left, the server adds the tip to the order/bill and closes the sale. If there was a bait and switch that was unknown to the customer and server, the server would never known there was a tip thus the customer would never have been charged. Do you think when a customer writes the tip amount on the receipt, it magically updates the computer by ESP? Additionally, a server typically needs a keycard to access their orders. Malicious server 2 would need her card (or pin) to even reprint the order. No need to defend this worthless scum. However it panned out, she was in on it. She was probably offended when the couple invited her to church.
I think she was offened from the get go with the name fiasco and projected the family as hateful and herself as a victim. so she fabricated a series of events that likely could happen, using the latest trend of viral customer shaming/ receipt sharing, and it backfired and is making her look like a real worthless human being.
