I was just playing Forza multiplayer...5 cars, 3 laps. The entire race, 4 of the cars were within a split second of each other...every turn was nerve wracking bc you didnt want to get bumped or knocked off the track...lots of **** talking going on between all them as we raced. I was 3rd going into the last lap...as we rounded the final turns, the 2nd place guy took a turn too sharply and spun out...so it was just me and the first place guy...on the very last turn, I took the inside edge and gained the lead. As we were going down to the finish line, and I realized I had the speed to carry through to win, I said, "Xbox record that"...and gave the **** talker a big F U. He called me a f*****, but everyone else in the lobby enjoyed that, haha.
LOL sounds like an amazing experience... What were you driving? I can tell you are really enjoying the Xbox One unlike other people who went with something else and are still waiting for something good to play because Knack sucks... How is Xbox Live on the One? I still think $50 is dirt cheap for such a great service that will last a whole year.... I am waiting for Halo to come out but if you keep talking about those great experiences then I might just have to rush it and get it sooner..... Cant wait to finally say " Xbox record that"
I learned that from a story I read about a Killer Instinct fight where the winner did a combo to end the match and then said, "Xbox record that", haha...so Ive been waiting for my moment. I wish I could say that it was my idea...but it does seem pretty funny when it takes place.
I was driving a BMW 1 series M Coupe....I was in a race with small coupes, and already had one of these in my garage, so I raced with it. The good thing about the game is that every race is very intense...so I can only really do a few races in multiplayer before I have a headache and need to take an advil...and a beta blocker to calm my heart rate. Havent had any issues with Live...my only issues with online stuff has to do with BF4, which has been an EA/Dice issue. I think about 5% of my games end up crapping out in the middle of the match. Most of that took place at launch, and I havent experienced it in the last couple days, so maybe the issue is fixed.
Just curious - if I hook up the Xbox One without the camera, does it REALLY degrade the experience? I do not plan on using voice commands, and I don't play any of the kinect games. I also don't plan to Skype using the Xbox.
Point taken. And I did get a PS4. I haven't hooked up my Xbox One yet, so I thought I would ask. Wouldn't say that I play either enough to have a "style"....but ok.
Just depends on what you're looking for in the console...for me, the integration with my tv, voice commands, etc... all make it an experience that I have thoroughly enjoyed.
The whole point of the Xbox is to bring something new to the table via a new experience... TV/Voice Commands/Games/Webcam Chat/Recorded Gameplay/Motion Sensing/Social Networking/Online Play/Digital Downloads/Digital Streams all in One.... Without the Kinect you are basically just setting up another console like the PS4 but with better games and a few more features like TV/Snapping/Better Online Service... Why don't you want to hook up the Kinect?.... Please don't tell me you are afraid of being looked at lol......
It seems like Xbones owners are praising the Kinect for its voice commands. In reality, couldn't that have been done without a camera? I'm pretty sure all you need is a mic or headset. Couldn't you disconnect the Kinect and the voice commands will still function via the headset? I know this is how the PS4 has it set up.
Salvy, you haven't buy a Xbox One yet?! dude, you're missing out. all these gamers are having fun and you're not!
The voice commands are whatever, although some are really cool like Xbox on and xbox record that. The implementation is very smooth. The skype feature is awesome. But I think the biggest feature is being able to snap and multitask. With that said, I think you can accomplish the same without kinect using just the xbox remote. The os is very well made
I agree with chow_yun_fat. You should still be able to use voice commands without the camera being on since the two functions are not really related. I bet Microsoft has some bull**** reason why they both have to be on for it to work, though. I personally am not that impressed by the tv integration. I thought it would have been better done for launch. I find there are times where my voice commands are completely ignored for periods and I don't understand why. I think it's because XBO is doing something else. Also, the fact that XBO wasn't designed to function as a DVR is seriously crippling to this tv integration IMO. I guess I can overlook that but the TV listings in OneGuide are seriously r****ded in how it works. Scrolling is not enough while in there and you must be able to jump to a channel number. Also, it doesn't pull in PPV listings or NBA league pass listings versus just showing it as that type of channel. There are serious limitations to it. I'm interested to see how it matures because, right now, it's like a baby just learning to walk. I think they can do it a lot better and I'm surprised it isn't better. I thought this technology would be further along. It seems like the limitation is mostly software. There is no must have in the live tv integration. The DVR non-voice controlled guide and other stuff is still must have. The live tv integration won't even allow one to flip back to the previous channel you were watching. I could wipe my ass with the live tv integration and flush it down the toilet not really missing it much. In fact, it would be a load off. Pun intended. **** needs a lot of work IMO. Buck Rogers would not be impressed if he just got off the shuttle in the future. lol
I'm in no rush to get either, but I can't stand the PS controller. Can someone tell me if its comparable to the xbox's. I wouldn't hesitate buying the Xbox, but I don't need these extra gimmicks.
It is still a DualShock controller, but it does seem a lot better than previous iterations. Don't know exactly what you didn't like, but I know some people love the new controller (and hated the old ones). I'm fine with either controller. Or a M&KB. Or dancing in front of a camera to attack the crab's weakpoint for massive damage.
The new PS4 controller is a lot better. I had a 360 and hated all the previous playstation controllers. I like this one more than I like the xbox controller now.
If you dont have channels listed as favorites to use Voice Command with...then that means you are probably using the controller to navigate through the OneGuide...at that point, why not just use your TV remote to bring up your own Cable TV Listing? The best part of the TV integration is using it in Snap...not really sure what benefit it gives you to use the OneGuide, even if OneGuide is absolutely amazing... just a better interface?
This is just how a lot of XBOX people are....they are like Iphone people. You can still play it fine.
