This has been talked about on this site by at least me for well over a year. So I guess if you want to call it a coincidence that MSNBC highlighted something that people on this site have been talking about for months at the least and 18+ months at the latest, then OK, it's a coincidence!

Even if they lose their coverage they can get coverage via obamacare that's the point moron.

 

Democrats aren't going to get massacred, but the point that they can get coverage via Obamacare falls on deaf ears when those people actually go look at rates.

Unless you qualify for a subsidy OR you had major health conditions and no access to employer coverage, you aren't going to like what you see 1-1.

The reason the rates are going up for everyone is only partially because of the "inadequacy" of the plans.

No underwriting for anyone means the baseline rate goes up.

About 3.5% of the rate increase is attributed to new taxes and fees under PPACA.

I can quote to identical plans (at least almost identical) and show you that for the same exact person the rate will be more on January 1 than it will be on December 31st.

 

Claiming democratic victory in elections is a result of ignorance is such a poor argument. At the very least ignorance is equal on both sides. All you have to look at is the ratings of rush and Fox News. People who follow these sources are voting just a blindly as any of the people who vote blindly the other way.

My parents are not ignorant, yet I know they have voted straight party republican for as long as I can remember. My mom could spend her time paying attention, but just does not care to and my dad doesn't have the time to. Regardless of party, ignorance is rampant. I think we can all agree that partisanship dictates the majority of all votes and the independent, knowledgable voter probably makes up less than 10%.

 

Well if you're in a state that expanded medicaid that helps a lot too.

 

Rates have been going up annually for at least a decade. The same plans have been getting more expensive.

So let me get this straight. Government fear mongers citizens into believing they need health care, when in reality they are the cause of most of the (dis)ease (Monsanto, GMO's, Cancer etc.) that is supposed to covered by this affordable health care act? The pharmaceutical industry is a TRILLION dollar business, why wouldn't they keep you sick??? I eat organic, I do yoga, I have NOT been sick in 12 years (prior to my lifestyle change, I was getting sick almost every week). I don't need no damn health insurance, the truth is no one really does. It is a personal responsibility to keep yourself healthy, and believing that being sick is normal (your mind is SO powerful, believing it is normal to be sick can cause sickness) is just means of conditioning by some very negative greedy entities... now that's sickening.

 

I have to say this is a pretty disturbing and ignorant post. Good for you that you eat right and exercise but health insurance is for more than just illness. You eating right and exercising isn't possibly going to protect you from getting into an accident such as a car wreck or something else where you will need to go to the hospital.

Insurance isn't for things that we can predict but because we can't foresee everything.

 

Ironically, the pharmaceutical industry is indirectly responsible for a lot of these car wrecks, a lot of people doped up on drugs are the reason car wrecks happen. Everything is connected, just see the big picture.

 

Have you ever considered that the world isn't a giant conspiracy, and that no one corporation/entity is actually enough to control the society? Or are you the only person who can comprehend this amazing truth?

 

Cool dude. Do you save the money you don't spend on insurance for a healthcare fund of your own?
