Honestly, I don't see Bob firing Kubiak outright after the season. Instead, I see him allowing Kubiak to gracefully step down right after the final game of the season. To fire him now would be anti-climatic - the season is lost and firing him will not make a difference. Like it or not, Kubiak did win him two division titles and took them to the playoffs in the past five years. That's a hell of a lot more than what the Wade Phillips/Jason Garrett duo has been able to accomplish up here with the Cows.

    So entitled....

Like you say, don't give them your money until they change. My guess is that most people would look down on getting rid of Kubiak in the middle of this season considering the circumstances. A new coach won't turn this around this season, and some would say you shouldn't want to at this point. And like others have said, how would it look to potential candidates firing him for appearances and to appease fans after what's happened?

Little to be gained, much to be lost.... I doubt it happens before the new year, and likely not until post season where, as DD said, he can be ushered out a la Rudy T style.

So looking at what the replacements have done long term. All of these teams might as well have just let the coach finish out the season. Then, look for someone better at the end of the season.

Well I don't know how many of those teams really expected the team to turn around. It is more of a PR move to tell the fans that someone new will be here next year. Don't you believe that if they announced Kubiak was done, that there would be some sort of relief in the city? Just knowing there would for sure be a new guy next year would at least make the last few games tolerable.

If you're making PR moves instead of moves to improve the team's long term success, you focusing your energy on the wrong thing. NFL fans always come back. Except in Jacksonville.

Heard from a friend that does Matt Schaub's nails, that Kubiak will not be Fired.
And that Bob Mcnair will extend him and Marciano for another 15 years..

Matt schaub will be the starting QB for the Texans next season.., and that Rick smith will trade their # 1 Pick for 2 Second Round Picks.. They will not be drafting a QB, because Kubiak will find a undrafted one he can groom ...

Only reason to fire Kubiak now would be if you had someone waiting in the wings that you wanted to try out. All this tells me is that Wade is likely gone as well.

So you would rather have bad PR and a bad team? Not really sure what you are getting at or how this relates to what I said. You basically took one phrase of an overall point and made it pointless. The whole point of my post was firing Kubiak would at least appease the fans for the rest of the season. Nothing Kubiak does the rest of the season is going to help. In fact, winning at this point would only hurt the team. Get him out.

All you need is a patsy to fill the position for the rest of the season, someone that you know wont get the job like say Dennison. The fans will be happy knowing Kubiak is history and potential candidates can start putting their names in the hat. At the very least get rid of smith now if you have a qualified replacement so he can get settled in and start assessing the sad situation at hand.

I have this feeling that if the Texans beat the Patriots, Bob Mcnair will come out of his hole and confirm Kubiak is not being released and will be attained for another year LOL- (I think this is Bob Mcnair's plan...) give him chance after chance until he
gets a win so i can tell the fans he is staying LOL

this is just how pathetic the Texans Organization/owner is

    You are exactly right.

The Owner probably has already confirmed that the whole staff except Marciano is getting canned.

Based off of pancakes' (John McClain) tweets this morning, I'm back to being fully convinced that Kubiak is retained, even if we lose out.

Sounds exactly like some crap Granpa Bob would say in an interview. On the right track, or whatever...

Pancakes is a joke of a journalist. He's on the level of Bleacher Report for me. It's amazing the talent the Chron has been able to amass over the years. Feigen is literally the only guy I'll read on their website.
