Why do y'all like these teenager-oriented book movies so much? Is it because they feature hot teenage-looking actresses or actors?

These are actually better movies than the crap that Twilight was. The story is actually intriguing to a wide audience and the acting is good.

I watched the first movie on Netflix this weekend just to see what all the fuss is about.

Seemed like Twilight meets Running Man meets Lord of the Flies.

Woody Harrelson was horribly miscast, but Lenny Kravitz did a damn good job and I hope his future roles are larger.

I'd like to see a darker, grittier interpretation of the books.

My final take: I have no idea how a grown man could like this stuff.

Comparing HG to Twilight is like comparing any other network to the CW.

The acting in HG was mediocre at best. The books were written on a 5th grade reading level and you have adults raving about how great the books were. That said, its still better than a lot of the crap put out by hollywood.

All action and fantasy movies are written for teenagers; and nowadays 90% are based on some some kind of comic book or video game.

Just came back from the theater and damn you all who said HG2 was really good. I thought HG1 was meh but HG2 was even more meh cuz it was more cheesey dialogue and less action.

It was a lot better than the first one. A lot...which doesn't say much.. The first I've had absolutely no action and was so overrated.

That being.said, it is significantly better. Good storyline, bulding up the characters. Except peeta. Hes a fah

I saw the first one on Netflix.

Just saw this one. I haven't read the books, so I can't compare.

Thought the movie was good. I got kinda teary eyed when they went to visit Rue's district.

Well it's interesting for me.. I loved the first movie and enjoyed it a little more than the book. But the second book I enjoyed more than the movie. I liked it, but I think they left out some crucial elements and character-driven moments that would have helped better punctuate certain scenes later in the movie.

WARNING : A LOT OF SPOILERS AHEAD

Finally watched it today.. good movie.. just as good as the first although I thought the directing was better in the first movie.

    1. I liked the movie better than the book.
    2. Why didnt they have the scene where Plutarch shows Katniss the watch/mockingjay.. that was kinda important..
    3. They could have developed Peeta's character more
    4. I remember Katniss being more torn between Peeta and Gail in the book (?)
    5. I was able to pick up on the hints that they were all in on the plan against the Capitol more than I did while reading the book. I liked that.

Im glad I watched it at the movies, will prob buy it when its on DVD.

I started reading book 3 recently, and so far I think it may be the best yet. Looking forward to the final 2 movies.
