I thought Dwight is improving from his LA days. He went from below average in the post to average. That said he should still look to go PNR and pass a lot more.
All is well that ends well and Michael got it done against Memphis, but d-mo (who I might add I am not sold on) might have been good for 8-10 mins in this game as he our offense was brutal at times. I'm sure he will get his at times during the season, but who knows what he's doing in practice to warrant pt
Pretty sure Asik is playing to gipe his value as much before trading him. Yeah, he showed that he's good last year, but eurobasket and start of the season was terrible.
The intrigue surrounding Asik is probably affecting DMo's playing time. In any case, McHale seems to be going deeper into the bench than he did in the first 10 games. He'll get more time eventually.
The Rockets scored 38 points in the 4th quarter with Asik. So the Rockets can score with Asik in the game, and you get defense at the same time. The Rockets were a very high scoring team last year with Asik as the starter.
Honestly, had the bench brigade not produced one of the most spirited quarters of the season from this team last night, I was thinking that the coaches would have made a rotation change with the bench. D-Mo deserves some minutes, but Casspi, Garcia, and Asik made a case for themselves last night. After Asik gets traded, I'm sure he will get an increased role off the bench if he's still with the team and doesn't get traded along with Asik. He looked pretty solid as a backup 5 the two games he got minutes when Asik was out. Obviously he's going to get pushed around once every 3 or 4 games by bigger backups, but that doesn't mean that backup unit can't also beat teams up offensively with him running the floor, and getting out on the break.
D-Mo is a good scorer but a foul machine. No way you want him on the floor when he may to have switch on Nowitzki, Aldridge, etc.
