Submitted for Discussion... Asik vs Dwight? Here's how I see the calculus: Take a given that Dwight adds more team wins than Asik. Call that value "D/A Delta" Then add the team improvement that could be had by trading Asik for a PF. That gives the over-all value of trading Asik. "Total Asik Trade Team Improvement (TATTI)" Theoretically, if we could get a greater improvement than "TATTI" by trading Dwight, then that is a better trade. For example, let's say we could get Milsap for Asik and Melo for Dwight (not likely but this is a hypothetical example). Which lineup generates more wins for the team: Dwight, Milsap or Melo, Asik?
DARYL MOREY IS NOT TRADING DWIGHT OR HARDEN Stop making these stupid posts! Are people in the GARM really stupid enough to think either of those will happen? If Morey traded either of these guys no star player would ever sign in Houston again while he is GM HE'S NOT THAT STUPID
Is it me? Is it my homer-ism? This line-up looks like a finals contender. We just need everyone of them to explode "together consistently".
THIS! We seriously need to start banning these little kids which make these stupid threads after every game STOP MAKING STUPID A** THREADS, IT GIVES CLUTCH CITY A BAD CHILDISH REPUTATION!
In your haste to degrade your fellow human beings, you missing the point of the thread. The idea was about the what the proper math was in considering any trade(s). Your point, minus the hate, that additional parameters that need to be factored into certain trades due to organizational legacy components is an interesting one however.
Are you serious? Without Dwight, Tjones will have a much less glorious debut. Not taking anything away from Jones but Dwight draw most of the attention in the post and it makes life much easier for Jones.
