We can easily point to Harden being a far superior player to Jeremy Lin and how he should get a lot of minutes accordingly.
Herrera to us usual tactics of attempting to provide humor. Not bad i suppose but i didn't really laugh.
Of course Harden is vastly superior to Lin on Offense. No one in their right mind will say otherwise. However, the point was, McHale has to date never "rode the hot hand" and benched Harden when he was playing a stinker. Even on his worst games where he has very low FG% like 20s%, 5+ TOs, ball sticking to him, and he plays zero D and the game is close even those games he will likely play over 40 minutes. So the only point is McHale does not "ride the hot hand". And it's not just Harden. Parsons was slumping badly to start the season when his shot was off but he also always got his minutes often playing over 35+ mpg
When McHale limits Harden's minutes when he plays games like these then the OP will have a legit point that Coach "rides the hot hand". http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400277976 38 Minutes, 3-19, .158, 4TO, zero D http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400277938 39 Minutes, 3-16, .188,,3TO, zero D Just saying "riding the hot hand" only applies to some players.
Saw the posted on Reddit: "Someone posted this on Facebook and I just thought I'd share. "Went to the Grizz game tonite with my roommate's sister. Someone musta had a hole in their pocket coz I think I found a dime Anyways, I had tix from my company right behind the Rox bench and of course I spilled a loaded plate of nachos right at our feet as soon as we sat down. Sux.... "The crowd was hype. I rocked my Gasol jersey. The whole first half we were pounding some Rocket ass and I was shouting to the Rox players like "Hey Omer, u got Om'd!" and "Hey Donuts Motjienus, u got Bear Clawed!" (coz donuts, bear claw/Grizz). Harden and Parsons kept looking back at me like I was a total freakin idiot, so I know I was getting in their heads. The 4th quarter went majorly wack and my girl kept texting the whole time, but the main thing was, I could hear Howard and Lin whispering, and they were like (I recorded it on my phone): "Why we riding the pine, Man?" "You see how many white people out there?" "Is Garcia white or what?" "McHale sure white." "This game is being televised in Asia." "Slap in the face." "Oh well, turn the other cheek. We're winning." "F@*# that!" "I left a major market to come to this? Jinx!" [They both said it at the same time.] Then McHale was like "Hey Jeremy, get in there and pick up the garbage!" Lin and Dwight like made googly eyes at each other, and I was like, to my girl, "Yo, McHale's like a mental torturer and ****." And she was like "I'm way ahead of ya. I just tweeted out those very words!"
This is the one thing I love about Howard. So far this season, I see him more than anyone else jumping off the bench and cheering hard for the guys on the floor. I really wish more of the guys on the bench would do that. Having the starters cheering for the bench guys would probably do a world of wonders for their confidence. As the bottom line is that you want everyone to do well because everyone doing well makes the team win
Blame McHale for this horrible win. Awful W. We should call the league and give it back. McHale never deserves any blame for such an atrocity. :roll eyes:
Yeah Clippers games also shows McHale doesn't bench Harden and "ride the hot hand". http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400488963 38 Minutes, 4-15, .267, 3 TO, and sadly no D again or maybe you are pointing to this game as your "example" where he played 33 minutes as being "benched" http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?id=400488923 33 minutes, .375 FG%, 3 TO, zero D When Harden plays extremely well for 4-5 games in a row then gets benched the next game playing only 17 minutes only because he missed his first 2 shots then we can say McHale "rides the hot hand"
Chocolate Rocket! That's funny. Did you guys see Parsons tell T. Jones to stop shooting threes?
But the 2nd unit was on the court? McHale must think Beverley, Garcia, Casspi and Asik are better players than the 4 other starters.
Man Carl is one of my favorite posters for calling out the hypocrits and the groupies for their nonsense.
