Others answered this already, although I'm not sure if you're talking about playing online with other profiles, or literally just their preferences.

I don't think anyone even needs an Xbox Live account for that (or at least a Gold account). I don't see any harm in creating Xbox Live Silver accounts for everyone to store this stuff (I'm assuming it can get stored online, that way you can sign in to other other boxes and see your preferences). But I'm sure you can also keep some of this local, or tied to a "parent" account.

I've not really done this myself, but I'm pretty sure it works in a way that would make sense for people (i.e., you won't have to pay $50 for everyone in your family, just to have your preferences saved).

Here are some sales numbers from the UK launch:
    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-25-xbox-one-outsells-xbox-360-two-to-one-in-uk-launch
I think it is the 2nd largest launch of a console in the UK (PS3 narrowly beat it at ~165K I believe...PSP outdid both ).

Funnily (or sadly) enough, I believe there was a source stating that the Xbox One will likely eclipse the Wii U's LTD in the UK very soon. If Sony has a very good launch (and enough supply to go with it), they could also surpass that number. In the span of a week, all 3 consoles could be in "1st" place in the UK next-gen console race. :)

    (Poor Wii U. :()

Simply put...amazing. I've become so lazy because I barely even use any remotes. The only regret I have is that I wish I had digital copies of games. Im so used to the voice control that I just want to say "Play Battlefield 4" instead of getting up, taking out a game, putting in another game, and then returning to the couch...the whole kinect/voice thing has really developed my laziness.

I think the UI is solid...some rave about it more than me...I think it's good, but I know they will make it better (there is plenty of room to make it better) There are also some features missing that I think will enhance the experience. For instance, they need to include a "Xbox Friends" voice recognition to pull up your friends list quickly and efficiently. That'll be added at some point.

A great experience I had was playing Forza while snapping Sunday night football...Granted, if I had two TVs in the living room, I could be doing the same, but having the ability to do this was pretty cool. The Skype video calls is also very nice...the camera is great and the sound is easily heard in both directions. Also, when I get up and move around the living room, the camera follows me and zooms in and out appropriately.

    As far as games...

Battlefield 4 - Im a COD guy, but so far, have decided to make the switch...The frame rate is the thing that stands out to me the most. 60 fps just feels so damn good. I dont know enough about the BF series to really comment, but from what I have seen, its a great game. I havent played the campaign, only played multiplayer...very fun, and luckily, very few issues with the servers.

Forza 5 - I love cars and Ive always loved the Forza series, so this will naturally tickle all my senses. Lots of hate online about the microtransactions...I dont get that at all. It's like people dont want to actually race to earn the credits to buy the cars they want. I have no issues, so far, with how the game is being delivered by Turn 10. Maybe Im missing something, but Im fine with racing for hours, leveling my driver up, and earning the cars that I want to race with. Also, the drivatar feature is bad ass...great addition to the series. Basically, you never race against computer AI....you're always racing against people's drivatar's....for instance, as I race in my career, Forza builds a profile of how I race, how and when I make turns, my patterns in acceleration and braking, etc... With this, it builds a "drivatar"...so let's say RC Cola is doing a Career in Forza, my drivatar has a chance to show up in his races and race against him, even if Im asleep with my XBox off. Therefore, you see much smarter drivers...or you encounter jackass drivers...or you see drivers that just suck at driving...whatever the case, your races are all different because you're not facing standard computer AI. Great touch.

That's all Ive got for now...Ive heard some great things about Assassin's Creed, so I may look into that. I also want to try out Ryse, after reading some positive opinions about the game, despite the poor reviews.

The RC Cola drivatar is the one that does just one lap, then just stops and switches to some other game (like Just Dance).

can we make crews on Forza?

Forza and CoD seem to load within a decent time frame while 2k takes forever not to mention blacktop or the park can get a game in

For PS4, I don't think it is supported quite yet. Maybe if you download the videos straight from the PS4 browser (haven't tried downloading anything with the PS4 browser...not even sure if it can do that). I don't think it supports playback of media from USB devices yet, though I might be wrong. I think these are coming down the line, but not supported yet. DLNA support in particular is something they talked about getting patched in shortly.

I don't recall exactly if the XBO supports anything like this, but I want to say it might have similar issues at launch. It does support DLNA already though (I think?), and as with the PS4, I think things like that will be patched in over time.

XB1 currently doesn't even support reading from an external USB storage device. You can stream from a DLNA supported device, but you cannot initiate playback on the XB1 (yet).

Having said that, the 360 was able to do all of these things and more, so it is safe to assume that the XB1 will incorporate what you are asking.

btw, you will likely not have enough room on a next gen system's HD to store movies because a good deal of storage is required just to play a game. The PS4 will alleviate this problem by allowing you to swap its internal HD while the XB1 will (eventually) support external USB HDs

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/11...ctioning-xbox-ones-compensated-with-free-game

Microsoft is offering a free first-party game to some Xbox One users affected by hardware problems. Microsoft said in a statement, "While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game. We will provide each of them with a free digital download of one of the launch titles published by Microsoft Studios."

A digital copy of the selectable games -- you'd receive one copy of Forza Motorsport 5, Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome, or Zoo Tycoon -- will still play on a machine with a malfunctioning disc drive, of course. In addition, Microsoft is replacing hardware at a faster rate than usual with its advance exchange program; Microsoft is sending replacement units before users mail out their faulty machines for repair.

Absolutely loving the great things I have been hearing about the Xbox One.... It is kind of funny thou that PS4 fan boys are still hanging on to same argument. "PS4 has better graphics and 1080 P" "PS4 is the gamers console, its more for gamers while the Xbox is more for media" .....

The most awaited games are on the "media console" not on the "gamers console"... Titanfall, Halo, Metal Gear, Gears of War franchise...... And currently has the best lineup of games available... Cant wait to get mine during the Halo launch.... :)

I'm pissed I get no surround. There is no Dolby digital support as of yet. And, no matter whether I run HDMI through the receiver from the Xbox HDMI or optical, apparently my receiver doesn't give me DTS surround with sound coming from the rear speakers. My receiver supports DTS HD which I guess is not what this is. This is DTS Digital Surround. Not clear what the difference is? The receiver says it is receiving it as DTS but, yet, no sound coming from rear speakers? Also, the uncompressed 5.1 and 7.1 give me no surround via HDMI, either. Now I got to buy a new a/v receiver or wait on Microsoft to release the Dolby digital format to get surround. WTF good is a home theater with no surround? Maybe because my receiver is on an older HDMI spec (ver 1.3a)...it's causing an issue. I'm guessing my receiver is not compatible with the XBO DTS or 5.1/7.1 audio signals...unless it is a HDMI cable compatibility thing? So frustrating.

According to this PDF on DTS, my receiver should support DTS Digital Surround. Yet, no sound from my rear surround speakers. Wish I knew what the hell was going on with this crap. I've checked every setting everywhere on XBO and receiver. It sees the DTS yet no surround?

I can't believe they released this thing without Dolby digital. This sucks.

I found the fix; not sure if it was in your article. Originally, the signal coming from cable or satellite is downgraded to two channel audio by XBO. So, it's not a problem with my equipment. I needed to turn on the beta software buried under the TV & OneGuide -> Troubleshooting section to get 5.1 surround. I'm not sure if it was mentioned earlier in this thread or not. I didn't see it but I might have missed if it was mentioned. Anyway, everything works great now. I was definitely scratching my head there for abut an hour. Lol. Microsoft definitely cut some corners here to get this to market.

Really loving this console. Watched the Rockets game last night and played some NBA 2K. There are some software glitches here and there, but I didn't really expect it to not have any problems out of the box. Hoping to be able to snap Skype w/ video and also play a game at the same time sometime in the near future.

Looking like this is the better multimedia device vs PS4. Is this true? How is Forza vs GT5/6? Haven't played it since Forza 1. Can I hook this up to DirecTV? Hard to find good head to head info as everything turns into a huge fan boy argument. Will this upscale to 4k?
