What makes you say that? Why do people think it has to be RIGHT NOW or never?

Mcnair is just letting him sleep in his own bed at this point

This isn't the NBA... they'll be around as long as this team is paying them to be.

Watt will be extended before he ever sniffs free agency.

Kubs should have been fired after last yrs melt down at the end of the season and this yr go from top 5 team last yr to worst team and still not fired says a lot about Mcnair. After 4 or 5 loses in a row any other team would have fired there coach not the Texas. Kubs has stay on the same team the longest in NFL history with out winning a superblow

Yeah, there was a poster on here who said something about it. (tmac35? Go ahead, call me naive for believing him, ha.) And Granato mentioned it.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Bob McNair called a meeting for minority owners. Consensus: Kubiak has to go. They weren't sure about Rick Smith. Will he listen to them?</p>&mdash; John Granato (@johngranato) <a href="https://twitter.com/johngranato/statuses/402510612699545600">November 18, 2013</a></blockquote>
    <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I suppose he could have also meant "Has to go (at the end of the year)."

But it doesn't matter. Now, later, whatever. Nothing matters.

That's not true. Andy Reid never won a superbowl with the Eagles and he was there for 13 or 14 years.

I dont think he gets fired being Thanksgiving week and because, he just had a stroke. Next week there is a Thursday night game, so i dont think it happens next week either. The dates to circle are anytime after that.

I have a feeling that since the Texans screw up everything, they will probably screw up getting the #1 pick. Anyone agree? lol

To me that is the only thing in doubt.

Hopefully someone wises up and gets rid of Smith too. He's horrible at managing the cap, the team is cap strapped every season and must cut veteran players and hope to fill important spots with rookie players every year.

Yeah, he'll in all likelihood finish the season out.

    I don't know if they'll get the #1 pick but they've secured a top five/three pick. They're a bad team.

Some don't want a coaching change now because they're afraid this (bad) team is going to go on some miraculous run (and suddenly turn into a good team) with Rick Dennison and/or Wade Phillips running the show. Stop it.

I want to be in the "good ole boy" network and get paid millions with no accountability or job performance worries. That's a great set-up Kubes has, no wonder he's battlfightin for it. He's hit the jackpot and has a better live view of NFL games then any season ticket holder, and all that's required to keep it is saying "aww shucks" a lot.

I was joking about an extension for him and Joe earlier but now idk could be a reality.

    Chillbro Baggins.

All signs are Kubiak met with McNair and was given the option today to resign now or play out the rest of the season.

Just because Kubiak didn't walk up the mic and commit seppuku doesn't mean he's staying.

    Because he wasn't fired TODAY?

    Come on.

It's not like the Texans waiting until the season if over to fire their coach is unprecedented. Most coaches are fired after the season is finished.

it's just so damn frustrating, that's why people want him gone. it's not so much that i'm dying to see kubes canned (although i wanted him gone years ago as i've never thought he was a super bowl capable coach), it's that the Texans have done NOTHING to even address this abortion of a season.

why is marciano still here???? why hasn't dennison been let go??? something, ANYTHING to instill at least the a nominal amount of assurance to the fans (hell... the players too) that the FO actually gives a hoot and isn't completely asleep at the wheel.

it's just maddening at this point that they haven't done one single thing to try and shake things up... just business as usual. this team is the very definiation of insanity and it's almost like they don't even know it... feels like i'm taking crazy pills!

at this point its completely fair to label mcnair as a totally incompetent owner. far as i can tell the only things he really cares about is making sure his friends still have jobs and turning a profit. you can claim he cares about winning but clearly that isn't the case. he may want to win but it clearly isn't a priority.

I know Bob McNair is a horrible owner when it comes to administering accountability but I guarantee you there is no way in hell that is going to happen.

The stadium was not fullnot yesterday. You can't play with Houston fans feelings so much and get away with it.

I am not even convinced they will even keep Rick Smith this year as well.

Clean House from top to bottom even the Wade Phillips his defense sucks against elite quarterbacks like Brady, Brees etc.

We need new blood right or wrong. It is the best direction for this organization.
