I don't know if the OP or the 610 caller are legit, but I can 100% confirm that this idea was discussed today as a real possibility.

Kubs not fired I done with the Texans till Kubs is gone. Only way now Kubs is gone he steps down or medical reasons looks like Mcnair is not gonna fire him at the end of the season

LOL I think these reporters are trolling him. "Are you satisfied with the way Derek Newton has progressed?"

Kubiak will leave on his own terms. This owner will give him the golden parachute and probably name a suite after him.

    Bob McNair does love Kubiak.

More importantly perhaps, he believes in him as a coach.

I believe you. I just don't like getting my hopes up. He just seems like he is a really sad man on the inside. I kind of wish he would just step down. I don't like hearing "battling" 30+ times in a video either. I'd like for someone to put together a video of all of his "battling" statements recorded looped.

He's exhausted. There is apparently a lot of tension in the building and among the players.

I guess if Dom didn't get fired until after the 2-14 season, Kub won't get the axe until after the season too. Those '05 Texans were expected to be a winning team too before the season.

McNair has never been one to make drastic decisions so I guess we shouldn't expect it now.

Of course he will. He was the first coach with a winning season and the first to take the TEXANS into the playoffs. Why not?

I told you all two weeks ago that he wasn't going to be fired until after the season. Today a legit possibility emerged that he was stepping down. Bob McNair met with Kubiak today.

Ummm... I hope they're the three or six THIRD-STRINGERs. We're getting a few injured ones back... so... that's cool. They can go. Bub-bye!

"Battling"--"they gave it their all" (Our player had an excuse for performing terribly or just isn't capable of performing better)
    "Struggling"--"failing to battle"
