If, 3 months ago, you were told that the Texans would be picking 1st in the 2014 draft (by record):

What would you have guessed happened for things to go that far south?

I would think that we have traded JJ Watt for the pick

    Schaub got hurt.

Which is basically what happened. His brain got broke.

By way of record, I specified. Otherwise, obviously trade would be the logical answer.

I still wouldn't think that would be even close to enough to end up with THE worst record in the NFL. Bottom 8, I'd buy. Maybe even bottom 5. But the worst record in the NFL would seem unfathomable (and still does).

I remember watching Bridgewater the first week of the season (or close thereto) and telling my older son that I wished the Texans could draft him...but that there's no way that would happen.

I thought they'd have a down year....9 wins. I said it was possible this was only an 8 win season. But I never, in a million years, dreamed they'd have the worst record in the league at this point.

Schaub out, Arian out, Owen out, Andre out, Cushing out again, and our offense laying eggs.

Pretty much everything except Andre being out happened this season.

This. If some one said that before the season though it would start an argument about how the other person was crazy

When I said something about not being entirely surprised about them potentially only winning 8-9 games in a thread, people thought that was nuts.

I thought the Texans would be around 7-9, 6-10 this season, so I would have been wrong, but only by a degree.

A pick 6 in every game for the first 7 games.

Honestly if you're gonna ask for two outcomes to happen in any year, my answer might well be: 1. win the championship; or 2. get the #1 pick.

CUZ IF YA AIN'T FIRST, YER LAST!

Ditto. I knew coming into the season they were not contending, i assumed 8-8, but not terrible.

    Pretty much.

I guess I'm one of the few that seriously thought we'd be contending though.

I never would have imagined this for the season. Sure there were flaws but on paper this team should not be this bad, the excuses injury, QB brain implosion, man coverage no matter what, RB divas, masterbating rookies, none of them excuse being this bad.

I thought this team had one more year of holding off the colts, winning the division and probably getting past whoever stood in their wY in rd.1 of the playoffs. We all new the shortcomings of our coaches and our QB but this is beyond belief, really.

A major overhaul is needed of the entire makeup of this organization, from the top down, we need great football minds, we need great personel men, we need masters of the salary cap, then you let these men sort out the problems on the field. Bob McNair needs to relegate himself to fan and check writer once these football minds are in place. He has no business getting involved I the day to day operations because he does not know football at all.

And even scarier, the Titans are the 6 seed and have seemingly lost their way into the playoffs.

Yeah, and Wade Smith never really recovered from his knee injury. He has been a real problem with the offensive line.
