I feel bad for the guy; one of the only players I would pay for season tickets to watch. Sadly, he's going to have to reinvent his game to have a big impact when he comes back

I only said that Bulls had a higher chance because:
    1) They play in the east
    2) Rockets at their peak were a 4th seed (mostly due to injury) so they would have home court in the first and than wouldn't have home court the rest of the way, Bulls were a number 1 seed a couple years ago. Even the Lakers series, the Rockets were a number 5 seed...
    3) Bulls made it to the conference finals, Rockets only made it to the 2nd round once

I know injuries played a big part in the Rockets franchise but Bulls just seemed one step away even though they have to get past the heat...

I was happy to see Rose back but it's sad to see him not play anymore in the season

    Done for the season :(

    From ESPN:

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose will miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery Monday, the team announced.

A sad day for NBA fans, and an even sadder day for Chicago Bulls fans... It's a shame since he could have been one of the top players in the league. I feel like it will be near impossible for Rose to come back healthy and play as he used to :(

I could see it coming, a Torn ACL destroys you. I tore my ACL ballin' at 17 and had to have total reconstructive surgery, and then a subsequent surgery to repair cartilage on my meniscus (sound familar?).

Lost a ton of explosion, the quick first step, I still jump off one leg when i ball but the athleticism is just not the same as before. And this is just playing pickup games. Playing at a high level for the NBA, you might as well just call it quits son. Poor Rose.

With modern day technology there is always a chance he can come back and be full strength. I hope he can come back, but its not looking good for his career. We might not ever see him like he was before the injury and its a blow to the NBA. What do the Bulls do? If they hold onto him and he continues to be hampered by injuries, then it only sets the franchise back. Talents like Noah, Deng, Boozer, Butler might seek work elsewhere in the future or be traded. If contending and winning championships matter to them then they will leave. If loyal they could reap benefits... but in all the Heat and Pacers are the true East contenders. Bulls aren't even in the conversation with Rose out, much-less with him. I think this Bulls team will be dismantled soon.

T-mac knees went back because his back went bad. Before the knees it was the back. Why did his back go bad? Because he gained weight - strength but I posted this in the forums many years ago that when T-mac bulked up in the off season to 240 that it would be bad news.

The additional weight and the lack of strength/flexibility in your posterior chain is going to destroy your knees.

T-mac didn't have a catastrophic injury like Rose did, his injuries were due to repetitive forces. Forces his body failed to handle because of weaknesses in certain muscles and lack of flexibility in others that made things worse on his knees.

Those kinds of injuries usually can be avoided with proper training and flexibility exercises. T-mac was good at building strength and explosiveness, but I never saw him in his videos do much stretching or flexibility stuff. I wonder if that's not related to his injuries.

Rose is one of the most exciting players to watch. This sucks. I feel bad for Bulls fans.

Good luck to him, I hope he doesn't go out like Brandon Roy.

his cartilage is prolly fine he just needs to play a smoother game instead of being so herky-jerky with massive torque on his knees. another yr to work on his jumpshot and mental aspects of the game.

    Wow. I agree with you.

Tmac never got a horrible on court injury.
