    Crazy 30 minutes.
First find out rose is out for the year and now Kobe staying on for 2 years.

Does this mean melo only signs a 2 year deal with the lakers now? ;)

Will this interfere with LA signing players since Kobe has the highest paid contract in the league?

Can someone explain how a contract extension works as far as salaries? Is Kobe going to be making $30 Mil a year for the next 3 years? Are they negotiating his salary?

His contract is extended after this current one. He makes 30 million this year and however much they agreed to the next two years.

Kobe trying to be the player with most years on one team (Stockton has 19) Kobe shooting for 20 year career? Get the man a wheel chair when he retires

Extension...hmmm... wow. I'm guessing its still very close to the max if they are extending him at this point. Mitch sure has some balls to sign any player in his late 30's coming off an achilles injury to two years at the max.... You'd think he was also going to pay Nash 9 million this year AND next or something.

Kobe Bryants contract will make him the highest paid player in the league the next two seasons

Lol.... Yep... its the Max. Wow. and not just a regular average max contract... if its "Kobe's" scaled contract he would be due its at least 25 a year I believe. Over half of your salary cap on Kobe coming off of an Achilles injury and Steve Nash's broken back. Nice....
