But but you cant share digital content :/..... Physical media is where its at!! Hmm anyways... where did I put my 45 second antiskip cd player and fav cd's at.... I feel like listening to some music....
Quick question. Sometimes I download (public domain) movies on my laptop and store them on my PS3 hard drive. Will I be able to do that on either of these new-fangled systems?
Factoring in that there is no resale value in digital content, then if the difference isnt about $10, people have less incentive to go digital.
I'm not particularly optimistic about it. Maybe if they open up their storefront like Sony is doing. They can get some competition from Amazon, and then these prices might become Steamified.
I'm getting mine delivered today. Plus, I got my $50 + tax credit/refund back from the Amazonia peoples for their screw-up.
I have AppleTV. I could buy Bluray movies for $20 or I could buy it for $20 digitally on iTunes. The prices are almost always the same yet I buy it online for convenience and DR purposes. If people are expecting to spend less on digital copies you are nuts. It may happen briefly so that your buying habits change but I guarantee you that it will go back to the original price. No one is going to leave that money on the table when they do not have to.
I'm still waiting on Best Buy to get another shipment in so I can use about $300 worth of gift cards toward one. I just hate calling and/or showing up to see if they have them in stock because it seems like they never do.
I did, but I found out that the stores that say they have some in stock are really the preorders that people haven't picked up
Can anyone comment on how hot the console runs? I will have the XBO in the same cabinet side as my DVR. If you run the signal from the satellite through the XBO, then both the XBO and DVR must be on. I'm wondering if that will be too much heat. I know the Xbox 360 can't handle it. But, I have heard the XBO has way better cooling with a much larger fan inside. Hopefully, that will be enough.
Eurogamer/Digital Foundry gathered some data on temperature, noise, and power usage in this article: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-xbox-one-hardware-test Maybe not super useful without a comparison to the 360 (they're probably out there, but I don't have a link handy).
Movies vs games is an apples to oranges comparison... When you buy The Hangover, that's generally something you keep in your collection and dont necessarily have a desire to resell. When I buy NBA 2k14...I will never play it again once NBA 2k15 comes out. Same thing goes for Battlefield games, Call of Duty, etc... Digital copies will never be as popular as hard copies in the video game world as long as prices are equal....at least, not when I can sell my games back for $10-20. With movies, it's a whole different ballgame.
Question: I've seen where the kinect can recognize people and pull up their home pages. Does that mean that everyone in the family has to have a live account? Or will people with profiles but no live account still be able to have their home page and Television preferences be pulled up as well?
Others please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost certain that everyone in the family does NOT need to have their own xbox live account. You can have multiple profiles on it. Although I haven't tried myself to fully confirm, I'm sure others (i.e. rezdawg or RC Cola) can provide additional info as to maximum number of profiles and other useful information.
Correct, anyone that has live on one system shares live with every other account on that system. I signed into my friends xbone the night it came in and I was able to play online even though my xbox live had already ran out.
