Funny, people complain that Schaub is a terrible QB...yet the Texans offense has been one of the elite offenses over the last 5 years. Either Schaub is actually an awesome QB or Kubiak is pretty damn good at running an offense. Otherwise, how do you have a crappy offensive mind and a crappy QB get the numbers the Texans have been getting for the past half decade? This season has been difficult because our offensive line is absolutely terrible...and it doesnt help that we havent had Foster in the lineup. Sure, blame Kubiak...but Keenum has failed to make the necessary adjustments he's needed to make...and therefore regressed as a QB.
In five games. With an overmatched, inept coaching staff and a team that has clearly checked out mentally. Got it.
Don't start with that crap. We've been bad in the red zone for years. We've been putting up horrible halves for years. We've been horrible on 3rd and 10+ for years. We've been bad at scoring TDs for years. We've been settling FGs for years. How can there STILL be apologists?

Elite offense is just laughable, maybe had two decent yrs because of a weak schedule, but like what has been stated already red zone has always been rediculous.
Ok, so we dont score as many TDs in the redzone as we would have liked...what matters is points, right? We've still been in the top 10 in scoring every single year for half a decade now. If you think the Texans offense hasnt been good, then please watch other NFL teams. We've consistently put up yards and points...sure, they could have been better in the Redzone, but you have to be kidding yourself if you dont think the Texans offense has been very good over a long stretch of time. Im not an apologist, Im a realist. Kubiak isnt cut out to be a head coach, but he certainly can run an offense...specially given that he's been handicapped with Matt Schaub. Also, give me 5 teams...and I know I can show you poor scoring performances, terrible halves, and inept stretches of offense. Go ahead, try it out.
Under Kubiak, the Texans redzone TD% is as follows: 2006 - 9th 2007 - 4th 2008 - 26th 2009 - 13th 2010 - 5th 2011 - 23rd 2012 - 14th Is that really terrible? When you mix into it that the Texans have consistently scored a lot of points, gained a ton of yards, and controlled the ball better than almost any team in the NFL over a solid 5 year stretch? I think you guys like to hate for the sake of hating...give me 5-7 other NFL teams that have been able to get these kinds of offensive numbers for such a long period of time...You have Brady, Brees, Manning...how many teams have been able to do that with a QB like Schaub? Maybe you think Schaub is a top tier QB? To not give any credit to Kubiak is completely ignorant, naive, and asinine.
I would say he hand picked schaub so this was a handicap of his making. He had years to draft a qb to develop but he rode schaub like a rented mule with no talent to speak of ready to take over. I dont see a team standing in line waiting to make kubes an off co.
A team that has checked out mentally? Dont confuse a crappy team with a team that doesnt care. And yes, Keenum has been regressing almost on a weekly basis here...he looked terrible today against a Jacksonville defense ranked 29th in yards and 31st in points given up. Keenum still is clueless about where the blitz is coming from...and he runs backwards for 15-20 yards before getting sacked. Instead of making smarter plays with experience (even if its a handful of games), he's making mistakes that he shouldnt be making.
That's because teams cant line up yet. When he gets fired, he'll be on the map for many NFL teams if he wants to continue coaching.
So we are down to blaming a rookie qb for not adjusting to an offensive sceme that doesnt allow for adjustments. I guess schaub couldnt adjust anymore either but its not Kubiaks fault.
Lol make up your mind, you was all over kubes sack now you are back trackin. Its this simple we have won two games this entire season and those were iffy. Kubiak is a joke!!!
When did I backtrack, wtf are you talking about? In regards to Keenum, the blame is placed on both Kubiak and Keenum...but to put all the blame on Kubiak, like you are doing, is stupid.
Foster, O Line, one of the best WRs of all-time in Dre, even Owen Daniels. Schaub has benefited greatly from all of these facets of these offense. Name one player Schaub has made better. And Kubiak used to be an aggressive play-caller (remember Chris Brown throwing passes?). But he has become so scared of deviating from the gameplan or adjusting to the defense we are facing due to all of those failures in the past. Can't say I totally blame him, but this team used to be so explosive and fun to watch. I blame Kubiak for failing to keep up with the league.
When did I ever say Schaub made anyone better...when did I say Schaub is a stud? Im saying that Kubiak has had a nice offense going for a long period of time, despite having Schaub as his QB. I completely agree with your second paragraph. Kubiak started coaching "scared"...and now it's too late for him to change his ways, and thus, he needs to be done with being a head coach.
