Looks even worse if you use QBR. 36.4, 96.6, 27.1, 8.6. ? Not sure what it is for today yet, but it's probably not good, he was statistically worse than he was in the last game.
Teams pick up on tendencies... defenses start game planning against him.... Keenum/team fails to adjust back.
Glad I didn't watch. Played games on my PS4 instead I'm starting to wonder if the Texans will win another game this season. I think there's a very good chance they lose out. The games against NE, Indy and Denver are near-guaranteed losses, and there's a decent chance the Texans get rolled in their remaining road games against the Jags and Titans.
No offense to all the non-basketball fans here but if we could dissolve the Texans, Astros, and Dynamo to fund the Rockets (allow Les to dig deep for lux tax, arena improvements, etc.) I'd be all for it.
It's clear we need to draft a franchise quarterback. I only hope we have a top 3 pick to do it with. Sigh. Hopefully we can emulate the Colts. In other news, Watt is still amazing.
At this point I'm comfortable putting damn near all the blame on the coaching staff. This staff clearly has ZERO idea how to adjust their game plan/strategy. None at all. I don't expect keenum to be able to overcome what is clearly a completely inept coaching staff. Sure he makes some misreads and questionable balls but how exactly can anyone expect him to thrive in system that was proven to be completely ineffective before he ever stepped on the field? He's not calling the plays, he can't audible out of them and the system we have in place is clearly garbage to begin with. Seriously, if we had drew freakin brees under center I'm fairly convinced kubiak would mismanage him as well.
The tie breaker for draft positions is strength of schedule. Among the 2-9 teams, the Texans had the 2nd easiest SOS going into today and thus, the #2 pick. Atlanta - 0.554 Houston - 0.574 Jacksonville - 0.624 And if we're picking a QB, it really doesn't matter because the Falcons aren't getting rid of Ryans. If they keep the pick, they won't draft a QB. But they could trade it of course. Gotta keep losing though because Minnesota, Tampa, and Washington (pick goes to St. Louis) all have a weaker SOS than us. We could easily slip to the #6 pick with a win.
It doesn't matter at this point. If this regime is gone, nobody in the new regime will be holding their breath to continue to try and develop Keenum (unless they hire Sumlin... which would be compounding their mistakes, IMO). Also, sometimes a QB's talent can rise above his surroundings... whether its a lack of other players' talent, or a lack of coaching. Fact remains that Keenum doesn't have any particular asset that would be hard to replace... and he has a bunch of exposed/bad tendencies that he may never grow out of.
This just in... tate sucks People keep saying 'tate is gone for sure' and 'we cant afford tate' well good. Dude has not shown anything. Dont get the love for this guy. He has played hurt. BFD he sucked anyway.
